Get ready to try this great knitting style and make beautiful garments! With the help of author Anna Dervout, you'll soon have colorwork spilling off your needles with ease, as you create delicate, modern patterns for women and children alike to wear. Discover different colorwork techniques using circular needles, which are becoming increasingly popular among knitting enthusiasts. You'll learn how to choose your yarns, manage tension, knit in the round, and integrate a seamless change of color into your work. Illustrated step-by-step instructions guide you through the learning process At the end of the book put your knowledge into practice to create 5 superb patterns, each suited to a different skill level: create a hat, a sweater or a cardigan and see all your hard work pay off! Colorwork refers to a technique used to knit patterns in multiple colors; it requires the simultaneous use of several different colors in the same row. Colorwork is used for sweaters, hats, scarves and mittens, but also a wide range of accessories (cushions, Christmas stockings or coasters). An understanding of colorwork paves the way to integrating a vast range of knitting motifs: horizontal, vertical, geometric or stand-alone. Anna's patterns are designed to be, above all, relaxing for the knitter; they are written in a clear manner, accessible to beginners, and are also size inclusive. Anna does the hard work of demystifying this traditional knitting technique so that it no longer holds any secrets.

Reviews
LIBRARY JOURNAL STARRED REVIEW Designer Dervout offers a splendid introduction to a lovely and popular knitting pattern that involves using two colors or more in a single row or round. Colorwork is often used for hats, sweaters, scarves, coasters, Christmas stockings, mittens, and the like. Dervout starts the book by explaining the different types of colorwork; here she also describes the materials that colorwork knitters will need, including circular needles. There are also detailed instructions for reading a chart, selecting colors, choosing patterns, managing tension, and finishing a design and project. Each chapter provides step-by-step illustrations and a clear explanation of the technique or skill necessary to complete a project; readers are treated to five patterns. VERDICT An excellent primer for creating colorwork projects that's size-inclusive and for all skill levels. Knitters will also be able to apply this versatile technique to Fair Isle, Icelandic, Norwegian, and many other knitting patterns and designs.

15 days after payment, a refund was issued. My account said the book was “out of stock.” However, the seller lists having 3 in stock, and increased the price $40.00 more than what I paid. I tried to rectify the matter with the seller directly. Their response never answered why my order was cancelled for being "out of stock." Nor did they deny that the book was actually in stock.
