Great character building DVD...
Hooray for Davey and Goliath! These are two familiar faces from my own childhood in the 60's. Thank goodness this was released on DVD! I bought "Davey and Goliath Volume 1 (2-Disc Collector's Edition)" for my son. I bought it because of the strong moral values that are expressed in each episode. I had forgotten how great these classic episodes were! Not only are they are free of violence but they also cover "cutting edge" topics like racism, forgiveness, and theft!! It is done in a very tasteful non "preachy" way and I actually found it quite charming, even today! Volume one comes with 2 Bonus Features, one of which is a new 60 minute documentary that includes the history of Davey and Goliath and also footage of how they actually made the show. Grew up watching this excellent series on TV, the stories are still engaging and relevant as they were back then. I plan to gift the DVD to my little grandsons.

What found memories of a good clean show. Great for Christians. I looked at it from a story and a learning tool when I was a child but it does speak of God. I just watched it a few times last week, since I just received it, and it is hard to find on tv today. Once in a while I may catch the company throwing up a show but not often. I do collect dvd's from my childhood and this just fit right in. Still great for children today.What found memories of a good clean show. Great for Christians. Sunday Morning in the 60s
In the mid-sixties, when I was a kid, there were only 3 channels, and of course no such thing as cable. After finishing my paper route, then to church, and then a good Dad-cooked breakfast, my young brothers and I hit the TV. There were only 3 things on: bowling, fishing, and... DAVEY AND GOLIATH!!! The fondness I have for this show exceeds common sense, but you must see these! And don't forget, these are the same creators responsible for Gumby and Pokey!
