Fun game for newcomers, might disappoint those who played the previous game
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a really fun and fast-paced arcade style fighting game. I trusted other reviews about the game and I went and bought it, and I am satisfied. The game looks great in HD with the many bright colors and sharp detailed graphics, from the characters, to the scenery, and to the moves. I really find the special combo finishers to be amusing since each character has a distinct special and combo streak. It takes a while to get used to though, especially online with people who have played past games. One thing I am disappointed with this game though is the lack of characters, being that there are about 35 characters in this game as opposed to the somewhat 50+ characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I still like using the characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but I wish they had ... Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a really fun and fast-paced arcade style fighting game. Worth the wait!
I rated this as Good. Graphics: 4/5 Sound: 5/5 Controls: 5/5 Gameplay: 4/5 Replay: 5/5 Overall: 4/5 Pros: Fights are intense and challenging. Diverse cast of recognizable or famous characters. Wonderfully created characters. Backgrounds and animations very detailed and play to yo visiually. Online play seemed smoothe with no glitches. Simple/Easy mode is great for beginners or those who just wanna jump in without the tutorials. Cons: Multiplayer lacks replay. Mission mode has no key training tools so you can be lost. No cheats as of yet. Game was a little short to complete but offers enough to replay time and again. My bottom line here is that this is a good game. This is awesome is you were a fan of the old, original two. I'm glad we bought this one and don't regret the $50 price! ... I rated this as Good. Love this game.
One of Capcom's greatest games to date and supassed the likes of all the original. With a great cast of fighters coming from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, X-Men, and, The Avengers you will sure have a blast creating teams to fight againist each as the cominations are almost endless. The colorful artstyle is extremley well fit for the game and anyone who has played any pass Capcom crossover games wether it be Marvel vs Capcom or Snk vs Capcom, should buy this game. An Acquired Taste For Committed Players
I bought this game with some skepticism. I didn't like the art style or the character roster, but I loved the first two MvC games so I indulged. Frankly, it's a major disappointment. This game is riddled with flaws, the online modes are shoddy, half the characters are overpowered or broken, control responsiveness fluctuates too severely in online play, any noteworthy bonus content can only be obtained by paying for DLC, the learning curve is ridiculous, the CPU plays like the cheapest human opponents on a whim, one mistake/misfire can screw your whole match and for whatever reason, the more I play this game, the worse I get at it! If you have the kind of dedication to devote hours and hours to using a specific 3-man team and learning their longest, most damaging trap combos, you can ... I bought this game with some skepticism. If you prefer a fighter that you can pick up now & again and still improve without making it a major part of your life: in other words, if you play to have fun rather than win, avoid this rubbish and buy a better fighter like Super Street Fighter IV. MvC3 changes the fighting genre for the better!

The 3D art style transposed to a 2D game is once again well done by Capcom. The frame rate and the smoothness of this game is very impressive, which is key in a fighting game. I went into the game with low expectations (considering that the last MvC game was released 10 years ago). The in-game rendering, images, and colors really put you into the game. It moves so fast that you really don’t see the flaws unless you are looking for them. A lot of care and love went into making sure there was an impact when hits were made. The voice acting is superb and it really brings back the days of the arcade from Marvel vs. Capcom 1 + 2. Controls: 5/5 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is easy to pick up and play if you are new to the fighting genre, yet deep enough that you can make it as complex (for you veterans) as you wish. As an example, let’s compare the control schemes between Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4. Having a Tournament Edition stick from the release of Street Fighter 4, it is the same layout and button configuration as the MvC3 Tournament Edition stick. In using this stick with this game, I am starting to prefer using the standard controller that comes with the system. You can tell the developers wanted as much adoption as possible to this game, and made it nice with the button layout and intuitive to use, especially in the heat of the moment. I must say that compared to a traditional fighting game, the standard controller may be better than the fight stick, and is the way to go for this title – however, it is up to the users preference. Gameplay: 4/5 Let me start by saying that when playing this game with a friend, there is nothing better. I have logged in 6 hours so far in the game, and only stopped because of work and sleep. This is a fun multiplayer game. However, if you have to go it solo, this is still a fun experience. This game can be completed in about 4-8 hours (depending on skill level and difficulty setting) to unlock everything, but it is an enjoyable experience. It is a through back to some fun gaming without the serious overtones found in many games. The reason it isn’t perfect is because playing online can sometimes be brutal, especially if new to the scene. Replay Value – 5/5 This is a great game, and a fun game, to play. The game is not too serious, and an awesome title that has been 10 years in the making. Though it is a shift from the standard fighting genre and control layout (as well as complexity), it is a must have in my book. All this being said, this was an enjoyable playing experience, especially in co-op mode/on-line mode, to play... and I have many more hours that I know I am going to invest in this title.
