2010 album from the Northern California Alt-Rockers. Produced and mixed by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters), and recorded and engineered by Paul "Fig" Figueroa (Alice in Chains, Bad Religion), Diamond Eyes is a powerful combination of muscular impact and expansive atmospherics clarity that charts the latest development in the band's ever growing sonic range. Diamond Eyes also represents former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega's recording debut with Deftones. Vega is standing in for Chi Cheng, who was seriously injured in a car accident in November 2008.

    Diamonds are Forever

    So before this CD came out, I was constantly looking at the Deftones website for updates and other goodies. Well, several weeks prior to the release date, they released 'Rocket Skates' and 'Diamond Eyes'. Instantly I knew this CD would be a hit. Due to the near-fatal car crash involving bassist Chi Cheng, this CD had been delayed numerous times. The Deftones quickly recruited Sergio Vega, who is currently serving as the bassist, until Chi recovers. This CD has a great combination of chill, melodic songs, along with heavier songs reminiscent of Adrenaline which was their 'rock' album. The song 'Diamond Eyes' is incredibly uplifting, and an homage to Chi.

    Faulty Jewel Case

    One of my all-time favorite albums, but sadly the jewel case was slightly broken (it detaches in half easily if opened too carelessly). The actual CD, however, was in great condition. It was possibly because of the hot weather, but I can't complain beyond that. Be cautious when buying used CD's online because you risk getting a faulty jewel case.

    Excellent Latino Group

    Very Good instrumentalists and the singer is just awesome. Very Good Latino group to come on the Hard Rock/Heavy Metal scene.

    Deftones CD

    I have been a Deftones fan for a while now and heard that their new CD is finaly out. I have a hole collection of thier CDs but never new that I would get it for an awesome price. CD is in great shape and I listen to it almost everyday. Deftones is not like every rocl band that you hear...everytime you hear rock music, they try to make it hard and screaming all over. Deftones does a mix of hard and mellow, which makes them great to listen to.
