À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Utilizing a host of new gameplay elements, Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth expands upon the formula made popular by the cult classic Final Fantasy Tactics. The continent of Mardias serves as the game's primary world, and is divided into three kingdoms: Nightweld, the Valaimian Empire and Gerauld. The story begins as Valaimian troops advance into Nightweld, a peace-loving kingdom. Lacking the military might to repel the invaders from multiple fronts, Fazz - a mercenary and the game's protagonist - is hired to defend the Tower of Wind. Needless to say, this is just the beginning of a dire and perilous journey for the unwitting Fazz.

As you and your party trek across the world map, you'll take part in various battles. Ready-for-Action Points (RAP) determine which, as well as the number of actions that can be performed by a particular character. The more actions performed (and thus, more RAPs expended) during a turn, the longer you'll have to wait for your next chance to act. When attacking, an interactive gauge appears that does damage based upon where the slider is stopped. Stopping it at the very end will result in greater damage dealt to the enemy. Wait too long however and the slider will return to the beginning.

Coinfeigms are the magical enablers of this world. These can be obtained from Coin Shops spread throughout the land and upgraded as the need arises. By engraving Coinfeigms at one of these stores, players can upgrade existing spells or gain access to new ones. How these coins develop is intrinsically tied to their wielder's beliefs - Wind, Water, Earth, Fire, Force and Lightning spirits determine a character's development as well as the weapons and magic they are best suited to wield. To aid your seven-character party in their quest, Trial Towers are situated throughout the land and provide an opportunity to level up characters, acquire new items, armor and even rare Coinfeigms.

Aside from the requisite Coin and Equipment Shops, located in each of the game's towns are recruitment centers and temples. The former provides the opportunity to hire mercenaries, while the latter allows characters to change the deity they are devoted to. Providing over 40 missions and multiple, branching storylines, Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth will require a significant time investment in order to glean enjoyment from it.

Avis les plus pertinents

  • Good game.

If you like Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Tactics, Jeanne D'arc, or the Disgaea series, then this game is probably for you. Pro: Strategy RPG. Very rare game type to come by these days. Pro: Decent graphics for the time period it was made in. Con: Too many "confirm" prompts. "It is now your turn, press X to confirm." "You have just moved, press X to confirm your move." "You are about to attack, press X to confirm you wish to attack." "Your turn is over, press X to confirm."

  • Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Review

Upon initial looks, one would think this is Atlus's version of the famed Final Fantasy Tactics...but the rule, "Never judge a book by it's cover" is as apparent as ever. First and foremost, this isn't a game for your kid brother to toy with. THIS GAME IS HARD!! The enemy AI is deadly and will exploit all your mistakes, the battles themselves are rigged to make you lose and lose you will. If any of your soldiers die, say goodbye...FOREVER, or reset. No revives. An intricate battle system (R.A.P) that takes some time to get used to and an ever present feeling of being cheated describe this game very well. Approach with caution and only if you have the patience and determination.

  • threads of fate

I played this game when it first came out. Back then the graphics were considered outstanding and even though now they dull in comparison to new age rpgs, the graphics are still pretty decent. If anything, the graphics were beyond their time. The game play is a little fast paced and leaves a lot of character building out that could have made the game more interesting to play through. The battle system is easy to understand and the monsters provide a challenge for the dedicated rp gamer. All in all, for an rpg classic such as this one, i would definitely recommend at least playing through it once.

  • Diamond in the Rough

This is a game I have been looking for a long time… I have heard so many things about it and wanted to play it and add it to my collection… After playing this game, I was surprised why it did not sell so many copies here in the states… Then I thought about how most of the Atlus games back then were mostly limited releases here in the US… If you are a fan of RPG’s especially the sleeper ones then this is an excellent game to try out… The playability reminded me of the first Suikoden for Ps1 combined with an awesome storyline like from the Final Fantasy series… The overall graphics are very impressive for this Ps1 game and reminds me of the NIS style like Disgaea or Makai Kingdom… Even though this one is a PS1 game the collecting value and replay value are worth this game being purchased...

  • my thoughts

if you like final fantasy tactics, very very similar title. Personally, I have found ATLUS to be one of the most inventive developers when it comes to rpg's. They've done a lot recently to confirm that opinion with games like riviera for game boy advance, numerous titles on ps2 and of course the ogre battle series. I know hoshigami often gets a low review because it feels like a tactics clone, and has a bad battle system in some parts, but what can i say, i still think it's a solid title
