À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Stu Ungar (played here by SOPRANOS star Michael Imperioli) carved out a name for himself by amassing a small fortune in gambling winnings after taking up poker at an early age. Now his story is laid bare in HIGH ROLLER. A three-time winner of the Poker World Series, Stu seemed to have it all. But sadly, his motivation for playing was fuelled by an addiction to gambling that could only lead to a sorry end. Imperioli fulfills his role as Stu with extreme pathos, illustrating how gambling can topple an individual from a lofty peek, and ultimately be as dangerous as heroin, crack, or cocaine.

  • Gambling at its Finest

The guy who wrote a review before me is an idiot and did not give any insite. This story tells the basic story about Stu Ungar, with some hollywood dramatic stuff. Its good to watch because Stu's life is a prime example of how gambling can fuc up your life if you dont keep it in check, and you lose control. Stu was a great player in all card games, not just poker, but he did become addicted to gambling and the lifestyle that comes with it. The move is good, but not great. It wont teach you crap about poker, but it will teach you how and what to avoid if you can ever win as much as he did :)

  • The Stu Unger Story- High Roller

The Stu Unger story was good. I was expecting to see a lot more action though. I liked the Actor's, very much, but I felt that the movie itself, the storyline could have been extended with a lot more table action and I feel that if if had been extended, it would have been a bigger success. But that is only my opinion. As a writer myself, I would have had a lot more table action and i would have had a scene where he, as a young gambler, was seen in the backrooms of private clubs playing cards at a young age with his buddies.

  • Based on a True Story - Quite Interesting

In this movie High Roller, it is based on a true story of Stu Ungar who grew up playing cards as a young child. Stu Ungar is played by Michael Imperioli from the Sopranos. His uncle helped him to play the game as he was so young and he was addicted. After playing with some professionals he was on his way to Las Vegas for the poker tournaments and was living the dream. However his greed and drug addiction got to the best of him. Quite an interesting story of a gambler.

  • Stu Unger

Good story and my friend in Las Vegas knows the real woman in the story. Good value too.

  • PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's

I bought this movie because Michael Imperioli is in it and I think he's an excellent actor. It was an interesting story well acted and directed but I didn't get the impression that anyone involved with it really understood Stu Ungar. His story was pieced together through tidbits of live footage and second hand stories that failed to create a cohesive image of the man.
