OUTSTANDING cinematography. IN ALL OVER 5,000 PLOTTERS WERE arrested and most excuted in Hitler's revenge for the plot~ but we see the courage of the group who tried to change one of the darkest days for Germany in history~ many scenes were actually shot in the place they first happened. Very good movie. If you know some historic fact before you watch it it ADDS to the FAST moving PLOT which is mostly based on historic events. I GIVE IT A SOLID 9 OUT OF 10 FOR STELLER CAST, GREAT COSTUMES, TRUE LIFE PLOT AND OUTSTANDING CINEMATOGRAPHY. IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE~

This Power Grab Never Felt So Tense Yet So COOL!
Based on an assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler which actually happened on July 20th, 1994, this film engulfs the viewer with action, wonderful scenery, and a believable storyline and character-base to boot. Before long, we discover that that Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) becomes the number one man to be responsible for taking Hitler out of power by plotting an assassination with many other Germans (Officers, Lower ranking Soldiers, and other Politicals) wishing to regain power from the hands of the Feurher. The tippie-toeing that went on in this film really makes you feel the nervous tension as lies and deceit become second nature. After a botched plan perpetrated earlier, Von Stauffenburg is called into the plans and given a very close position in Hitler's ... The bombing attempt on Hitler failed, thus foiling the plotters plans of quickly taking power by any means necessary, but soon lose power as their plans backfire on them. Cruise plays a convincing Von Stauffenberg. Additional cast members are Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, and Terence Stamp. This incredible story unravels with excellent harmony and wonderful cinematography. This is based on historic fact and moves very quickly. We seldom feel that anyone really wanted to punish those who took part in the coo, however, that's what happens in Love and War. Nearly 5,000 Germans were soon arrested and executed after this occurrence. I'll give this a 5/5 for excellent portrayal of true story. The movie is fast paced and full of action, the story is mostly accurate with some liberties taken to enhance the drama but overall it sticks to the facts. Best version of Valkyrie!
Love this movie. Had it stolen from me several years back. I finally gave up ever finding it in stores and searched ebay. I couldn't be happier that I found it and for such a great price! I've watched other versions of this film and I have to say THIS version is by far my favorite. Even if you aren't a Tom Cruise fan, you will enjoy this movie if WWII drama is what you're looking for.

WONDERFULL MOVIE-TRUE STORY TOO
yas I know your going to say "oh-no Tom Cruise" Well let me tell you something...This is a firat rate movie, in fact the behind the scenes I watched on the History channel and where the executions took place of these brave souls who tried to overthrow the monster Aldoph Hitler, Is the wall which is there today...The entire cast and crew stopped for a moment of silence for those who were shot. The movie flows very well and the aircraft and vehicles as well as the uniformas are awesome. Being a descendent of General Beck- or so Im told Im very proud of the Heritage that flows in my viens.
