Droids are better than IPhone
As a self proclaimed electronic techie, I have owned and operated all the Droid phones, the Blackberry Storm and an IPhone. The IPhone itself is awesome, but the phone calling quality really blew chunks. The Storm froze up and was inoperable more than operable. I have heard that they have fixed most of the bugs, but the Droid op system is way better. The HTC Droid Eris was my first Droid. It did everything I wanted and the only drawback was it's speed of processing. They have since upgraded the software and it is better. Next was the regular Motorola Droid, which was larger than the HTC Eris and a little too bulky for me. I am not a big texter so I never really used the sliding keyboard. I felt the phone was too big, so I went to the Droid Incredible. The Incredible is my favorite, the ... I would recommend this for people who want video features or browse the web alot, otherwise, get the Incredible. It's size and funtion ability is great.

Finally touch screen phone for grown-ups.
I am a (former) Iphone user, but my company recently gave us company BlackBerry Curve's. I bought this Storm 2 to replace the company phone, and and am impressed. It's amazing how you forget what a grown up phone can do. The storm has lightning fast app launching, easily switches between apps, great camera and video camera, built in ability to operate all Office documents, and the ability to theme your phone. (without hacking or "jailbreaking") The clicking touch screen takes a little while to get used to, but it offers a wider selection option, such as hovering without selecting. It merges email, sms, facebook, twitter, etc, by contact and on a desktop function that is easy to navigate, and you can see everything for the contact in a timeline. The swift handling of email (especially MS exchange) is unmatched in any other phone, The design of the operating software is extremely intuitive, making composing, editing, attaching files to, and sending messages much easier and faster than other touch screen phones. There are also built in magnet sensors that recognize when you put the phone in it's holster, and adjust the sound and vibrate notification settings appropriately, while also putting the phone to sleep. It will also recognize when it's snapped into a navigation holder in a car, and automatically launch the nav software. The web browser on this phone is annoying and small, and apps like pandora and iheartradio do not stream well. The phone will never compete with the iphone in interface or range of applications, but I don't need that. I have a laptop with a wireless card and several computers at home and work. I can surf on those. The phone far surpasses the iphone in functionality when it comes to running multiple processes, intuitiveness, instant notification of email (not push every 5 min) and so on. If you need a great touch screen phone and you use your phone for business, this is the one, hands down. If you need your phone to surf the web and listen to the radio, it is not. As a side note, the phone will easily tether to a computer and operate as a modem, including thru Bluetooth.

A phone that can do most anything
Amazing phone with only a few shortcomings. First, the screen is amazing. It's a perfect size and resolution. Movies look amazing and pictures look very nice. The responsiveness of the phone is also very good. The 1ghz processor seems to do a very good job. The fact that it can use microsd cards is a huge plus. Apple is just plain dump for not allowing this. There are only 2 things I can really complain about. the first of course is the battery life. Everyone wants their battery to last forever but it's just not possible with this much processing power and screen size. I can get through most of a day and still have battery life left but still, having the plug it in every day is sometimes inconvenient. The second is no forward facing camera for face chat. It had amazing potential (the phone) B U T did not meet my expectations
I owned this phone for 1 week & it froze up on me like 3 times. I had the task killer downloaded & used it everyday (several times). Anytime I would take it to the store they would say "make it freeze, I can help you if I can't see it". Ofcourse by the time I could make it to the store it would be back on. But still they could've just took my word. I LOVE the android system. Im not bashing it at all. I hate verizon's customer service in the store & on the phone. I know im not the only one. All they care about is getting new costumers they don't care about pleasing there old costumers. I've been with verizon from the first day. They took over my old company (many many years ago). The automatic rotation is kinda slow. Plays video's & such good. Awsome sound system. Overall this phone had amazing potential. But from the first day it seemed like they sold my an old returned phone that had N O T been refurbished. It sure did not seem or act like a brand spankin new phone. I feel in love with the android system n o t THE PHONE. I really dont know if I would recommend this phone or not.

A device of such quality as to outweigh Motorola's proprietary motives.
I give the Droid X 4/5. This is based on a set of criteria I have been hunting to fulfill for a while. In the Verizon Droid X have found a phone with wifi capability, which is capable of being activated on Page Plus and therefore not require a data plan with Verizon, but still use the same resources for voice. The phone is easily root-able, though Motorola has made it very hard to modify the on-board software via encryption and mounting ro on boot. This is where the phone lost a star: priority on proprietary. It will take toying with, but the wireless can be injection capable and a rw linux may be chroot-ed into. Certain other phones may have been easier to manipulate for my purposes, but this phone is by far the fastest and, I'm finding, most reliable. The phone is awesome; comparable to ... Multifunctionality sold me on the phone: GPS, Camera/camcorder, fm radio, media player, games, ebook reader, network security auditing platform, and oh, yeah, phone- excellent quality utilizing the nations largest cellular company's infrastructure for half the cost!
