An amazing compilation of the best Folk voices of the 1950s & 60s. More than 90 songs and a thorough and touching / informative companion book all wrapped up in a stunning box set. Very well though out design which captures the flavor of the times. The music choices are impeccable. Headliners Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Malvina Reynolds, Lucinda Williams are all aboard but also the likes of Sis Cunningham, Thom Parrot, Elaine White who are not so well known although pivotal to the protest music movement. Standards and not oft played ballads with rousing in your face story songs. Taken from the Folkways archives, this set should be found-kept-played-shared, especially to a new generation of activists. Can't say enough about the wonder of this product ... except that it also has Bob Dylan, Buffe ... An amazing compilation of the best Folk voices of the 1950s & 60s.
