Fans of earlier Harvest Moon games may not be surprised to learn that the Harvest Goddess and the Witch Princess are feuding again. In Harvest Moon DS Cute, Nintendo DS players choose to take the role of one of two intrepid young women who each have already proved their pastoral prowess in earlier Harvest Moon adventures: the heroine from More Friends of Mineral Town or the heroine from Another Wonderful Life. Addictive and Engaging.... Fun for All!
This is a new release for the DS. It's the same game as Harvest Moon DS with the exception of the main character you play is a girl. The game play is the same otherwise. Harvest Moon Cute for the DS is a good, clean game suitable for most ages. I don't recommend it for ages 7 or under simply because you need to be able to read to successfully play it. I am currently 31 and I enjoy it very much, and I have found it to be VERY addicting. Like all the other Harvest Moon games I just can't stop playing, and my family gets annoyed at how much time I spend playing it... it's THAT good! It's also great being on a DS because it's portable, so it can be played anywhere. I really like that, and have played at many a doctor's appointment, lol. What this game is about: In the beginning, the Witch Princess casts a spell on the Harvest Goddess and 101 Sprites that all reside in Forget-Me-Not Valley. The spell causes the Harvest Goddess and the Sprites to vanish into another world. Luckily they have you to help, or should I say, your character. It's up to you to help the Witch Princess by finding the sprites. Once you find 60 sprites the Harvest Goddess returns. The games does not stop there! You still have the remaining sprites left to find, as well as other challenges to complete. There are 4 mines to unlock, the the 4th mine is monsterous in that it has over 30,000 floors! Another new feature to the series of games is that you have dark creatures to fight and kill in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th mines. Of course, each mine is larger and harder to get through. You need to keep your farm going by raising your livestock, planting and harvesting crops, mining, unlocking all the sprites and harvest goddess, upgrading your tools and accessories, and upgrading your house and farm. You can also marry and have a child once you are married. There is a new character that is in this version and not in the previous version. His name is Skye and he is a thief in town who is also an eligible bachelor. I think he looks gay so I wasn't all that thrilled with him. Some of the story lines are slightly different as well. There are still most of the same characters as you see in past versions of the game, so there is a familar flavor to the game if you have played any Harvest Moon games in the past. I have fully enjoyed playing this game. It has given endless hours of engaging entertainment and I do recommend it to anyone. Happy Playing! Harvest Moon Cute DS
This is a great game. My daughter already had and played the harvest moon, so I was questionable as to how much she would actually use it. Since I got a great price on it, decided to try it. Needless to say, I was wrong. This game has outlasted even those "new and exciting - had to have" games I paid retail for at stores. It's (according to the user) fun to play for those who already played harvest moon, as well as for those who never played the original. I even found myself interested in what she was showing me with the characters and features.This is a great game. This strategy rpg does things offbeat and rather than definitively spotting good or bad choices, the mechanics leave you off balanced at first and ultimately reward you with fresh a fresh take on a genre that often feels like a line of T-shirts with "witty" remarks that all too soon find inspiration from one another. Here I will explain how the game works since many people gave up before bothering to understand it. First off, melee attacks are accomplished by moving through your opponent rather than running up to his face and exerting your steel authority, lending many units on both sides to the hit-and-run variety. This mechanic requires you to take more consideration into defensive formations to avoid being overran yourself, since melee units need at least one space adjacent to the ... On the offensive side of things, the run-through mechanic allows you to hit someone and double back, edge uncomfortably close to an opposing mage or archer, or attack multiple enemies at once. More tank oriented units are often gifted with a skill called "ZOC" that usually stops foes in their tracks and sends them to the nearest adjacent space. Mages and archers are similar in the fact that they deal punishing ranged blows but can only attack OR move in a turn. Archers get free attacks with good range and power while mages are armed with Area Of Effect attacks, mp costly long ranged attacks and healing. Typically mages are geared to either offense or support but a few possess a mixture of both. Many journalists complained that these classes, in particular the mage class, were hampered beyond salvation by the move-or-attack restriction, but to make up for this mages MURDER with ease and archers can stay safe, and with proper placement and support mages can take out half of the opposing force in just a few turns while archers weaken or pick off survivors. A major mechanic is the Momentum Counter (MC), a number that increases for each unit the more success they have at a given task like healing, dealing damage, ect. If the MC gauge is high enough, the character will gain a boost in experience at the expense of being targeted by enemies more often. It's possible to use this technique to draw attention away from mages, but it can be risky since foes can just rush through your posse in any order. I would suggest using a ZOC equipped unit in front and a mage behind him for maximum safety while advancing both in the front lines. Item shopping is accomplished with the help of units on standby that you send off to the market to buy or sell items. Managing the budget for buying items will give you an idea of whether they will return with 4 crappy equips or one powerful medal, and different units have varying degrees of how successful they are at haggling when buying or selling, and how many different items they can buy/sell in one trip. If not sent to the market place, units can train to up their stats or go on quests to obtain items to use/sell and upgrade their class. Indeed this game likes to keep people busy. The one complaint I have for this game is the lack of polish. Many characters move in the run-through sequences, but few have animations and just seem to fly, and some voice clips are cut off when attacking. The game looks clean and the story is servicable, with some interaction between units on the field that can be enjoyable. Patients pays off in here.

Harvest Moon DS Cute Review
This is an excellent game. I love the new character and everything new that she can do. I like that there are new animals that can be added to the farm and that the player gets to choose where the buildings will be built. The only thing that I don't like is that now it takes longer for to make friends and for her boyfriend to like her. I love the new challenge: having to find and save all of the harvest sprites. I already had the game Harvest Moon:Friends of Mineral Town for a long time. When my sister bought a Nintendo DS, we decided to buy the female Harvest Moon version of Harvest Moon.This is an excellent game. I love the new character and everything new that she can do. The game was shipped safely
Beyond the game getting here on time, that's all that was good about it. I've played many Harvest Moon games, and this game was a cheap knock off of Friends of Mineral Town and another one. The map had no defining features, there were no introductions, and the bachelors looked like 40 year olds (minus a conceited kid), while you looked like a teenager. It was shipped and delivered perfectly, but the gameplay was terrible and cheap.Beyond the game getting here on time, that's all that was good about it.
