    Only Modern Engine Available for Scale Modeling

    I searched and searched... got very lucky I found this specific model... is the only model available besides the 2002. Model is very accurate and very detailed. Flashing is present but not considerably. Some fitting issues, very few. Going to have to do mayor modification to body in order to match the 05 ALF on my volunteer company, like inside-body ladder compartments and stand-up pump panel. Attached is a picture of the engine I want to make, I will update w finish product pictures. Whish manufacturers would make more modern fire engines for scale modeling.

    My opinion

    On the whole the kit is well laid out. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Lots of detail. The parts are well molded and fit together with out any problems. There are only 2 things I don't like about this kit. 1 The price I think is to high 2. No main engine. I get so fed up with these curbside models. When I pay a high price for a model I expect it to have an engine. Interesting to note in this kit is even though there is no main engine there is a gearbox. I intend to put an engine into my fire engine. It won't be the correct engine as I don't know what engine goes into the real fire engine. I will be putting a Detroit Series 60 as it's the most modern engine I have. To put a positive spin on this situation having a modern looking fire engine in the collection is a ...

    Fantastic high quality & detailed model kit.

    Very high quality, very well detailed, styrene plastic model kit. Durability is what you'd expect of a plastic model kit, a question that doesn't really apply as this is not a child's toy, it's a skilled modelers kit needing to be built (gluing & painting required, but not included as with most model kits). Included are numerous, very nice appearing, quality, self stick, diamond plate pieces, in addition to other plastic diamond plate pieces. There's no comparison to certain other typical US based fire truck kits given the high quality and detail provided in this one. I only wish there were more US versions to choose from, because I'd buy them in a heartbeat, especially (non-ladder) smaller pumper trucks. If you want the best available, this is it.

    Wonderful replica of this firetruck

    I haven't put the model together yet as this is a retirement project for the near future. Since models are becoming scarce. I am snapping up all of the ones that I am interested in.
