Amazing film and secretly very funny
This is a great film. It took 7 years to make as studios and director were not happy, but this is two great showings from John Wayne and an amazing performance form Janet Leigh. Very funny screwball comedy mixed with some great airplane shots and a little tension at times. I think audiences were a little confused as the beautiful lighting and cinematography did not spell out the word 'comedy' and it looked more link a serious epic action picture. I couldn't help thinking that Wayne's part was actually a perfect Cary Grant role, but Wayne's clumsiness is actually brilliant and works amazingly well with Janet Leigh. This is a hidden gem that will more than put a smile on your face.This is a great film. Great cold war action film, a must have!
Nice action in the air of the vintage fighters, Chuck Yeager did a great job flying and Janet Leigh wasn't too hard to look at either playing the Russian pilot. Interesting cold war story and well worth owning!

For My Dad
I myself has seen the movie on TV, but my Dad is collecting some of John Wayen's best movies and could not find this one any where. All the video places told him, they don't have it and couldn't get it. So! I looked on e-bay hoping to find it and did. After going through a lot of movies and it was the only one. He doesn't know yet that I have the movie. Waiting until Father's Day, if not before,to keep him from getting one somewhere else. It meant a lot to me to find this movie, so I can give my Daddy something special, that he really wanted. Thank You, so very much. Pretty silly script but great airial photography
Pretty corny script but GREAT F86 Sabre jet photography and stunt flying by Chuck Yeager. This movie is worth it if you are interested in either of these two subjects

A Fun Ride At The Beginning of The Jet Age!
I love John Wayne and this mid 1950's movie shows the cool transition from WWII airplanes to jet power. He and Janet Leigh make the usual sparks of John Wayne and his leading lady. Enjoy!
