Product Information

Sesame Street: Elmo's Letter Adventure is an educational 3D action-adventure that is designed to help children ages three to six with letter recognition and basic spelling skills. It was released almost simultaneously with Sesame Street: Elmo's Number Journey, also for the PlayStation.

In Sesame Street: Elmo's Letter Adventure you assume the role of the adorable red Muppet Elmo as you journey and explore three different fantasy worlds. These worlds are Big Bird's Farm, Grover in Outer Space and Ernie's Underwater World. You will begin your adventure on Sesame Street, where you will meet Sesame Street characters who invite you to visit their fantasy worlds to search for letters and play games. Before you leave Sesame Street you can interact with the characters around you as well as visit Elmo's Room, where you can practice playing the game. While in Elmo's Room you can also view the game's credits and watch preview videos from Sony Wonder (by pressing the "down" directional button).

Each of the three fantasy worlds you will travel to consist of two different game environments and a bonus world. Once you have acquired the correct number of letters required to pass through each fantasy world you will be instantly transported to the bonus world where you will be challenged to solve word puzzles.

Throughout the game you will receive both verbal guidance from Sesame Street characters as well as the guidance of a special onscreen controller that will prompt you on what buttons on the controller need to be used.

Sesame Street: Elmo's Letter Adventure does not require the use of a memory card. The game's three levels of difficulty (Easy, Medium and Hard) can be accessed and changed at any time while playing.

Avis les plus pertinents

  • Little one loves the Elmo Game

My daughter, who is 2 years old, watches a good amount of tv as do most children in modern day America. She also loves to run around, play games as any normal 2 year old. However, i wanted to get her a video game so during those non active times she could still be learning and interacting as opposed to just sitting and watching. I hear at least once a day " Dada, Elmo Game Dada?". As for her liking of it she loves it but it only lasts about ten minutes. Incredibly boring for adults to sit and control and play if their child isnt too into it. She enjoys the characters and scenery though hence why she constantly asks to see it again. I enjoy the pruchase solely because it gives her another option. However, I think the game itself could have had a tad more variety then just walking forward ...

  • Not as good as expected.

While this has great potential, I don't like it. My 4 year old wanted her own PS2 games... and I found there aren't many EC rated games. I thought this would be great since I read it was very educational - so I bought it. I think this would be OK for a child who has not played (or little play) on a PlayStation. My daughter had played other games before this (though, not EC rated) and this "game play" was way to "beginner" for her. The educational aspect of it was right on target. She loved looking for letters but the way this game is made - it was more a pain than fun. I think it could be greatly improved.

  • Preschool learning

I have two little girls (three and two years old) and I wanted to introduce them to the joys of learning via video games. Elmo's Letter Adventure is an excellent place to start. Although learning how to use the controls isn't easy (I help alot), it's worth it when I see them jumping and clapping when they guess the right answer. It's alot of fun for all of us! Yay Elmo!

  • 4 year old thinks game is OK

Game is good for kids learning letters. My kid wanted to see more "worlds" as she got bored of the 3 in the game kind of quickly. But it's a fun, simple game for your PS1 that you can get for a low price.

  • Sesame Street: Elmo's Letter Adventure (Playstation)

This is a wonderful game. My son loves playing it and it has really helped him to recognize letters. Within a week he was able to name the letters. It is perfect for preschool age kids.
