Some people have stated that Skip Homeier over played his part as Emil, but I think he does it just right. It's a 1944 movie, so it shows how quickly Americans learned about the Nazi's values and how they were treating the Hitler youth and were able to put that into perspective in a film. The film covers all the bases about the negativity, myths, and hatred involved in Nazism, and the support, respect, and rationalism of American ideals. It's nicely done without being weighty of pro-American or anti-Nazism, but a good learning tool about this young youth who was exposed to so much negativity, and the anti-social, backwardness, and destructiveness of Nazi thinking.Some people have stated that Skip Homeier over played his part as Emil, but I think he does it just right. Fascinating Wartime Propaganda Film about US Response to the Hitler Youth
TOMORROW THE WORLD is a fascinating window into Allied concerns about how best to rehabilitate and stabilise Germany after World War II. Released in 1944, the film anticipates the victory by the Allied forces who were steadily gaining ground into German territories. But rather than being a war film, it is set in the stable world of middle America where a university professor has decided to adopt his orphaned nephew from Germany whose parents have been killed by the Nazis. What he doesn't know is that his nephew has been indoctrinated into the Hitler Youth and is an extreme zealot. The boy's entry into the family creates no end of turbulence both overt and insidiously overt ways. The question the film ultimately asks is how will the Allies denazify the millions of German youth devoted to ... TOMORROW THE WORLD is a fascinating window into Allied concerns about how best to rehabilitate and stabilise Germany after World War II. Released in 1944, the film anticipates the victory by the Allied forces who were steadily gaining ground into German territories. This would become an important reality after the war as a formal program of denazification was implemented by the American forces while the USSR replaced one form of totalitarian regime with another that used some of the same tactics as the Nazis. While this United Artists film is occasionally quaint, it's heart is firmly in the right place and it never resorts to dehumanisation despite occasionally on-the-nose stereotypes of the heel-clicking Nazi youth, Emil, and his young gee-wiz American peers. Whichever way you approach it, TOMORROW THE WORLD is propaganda cinema committed to demonising Nazism (but not its followers) while heralding the superiority of American democracy, but it is also propaganda that is interested in asking questions and provoking conversations about "what next"? In this regard it is an interesting portrayal of a society that is ostensibly all on the same page, unified in its commitment to democracy.

In 1944 & 1945 there were over one million boys & girls who were brain-washed by their training in the Hitler Youth Schools. This film was meant to show them right from wrong as they were adjusting to the democratic lifestyle in new countries.
