The Sony Digital Mavica MVC-FD71 qualifies as a Best Buy largely on the basis of user-friendliness, as well as the ease with which its images can be incorporated into many applications.The camera uses 3.5-inch floppy disks as its image storage media, the same used in your personal computer. This allows you to take your pictures, then remove the floppy from the camera and insert it directly into your computer, without the need for any auxiliary cables or equipment. Once in the computer, you can view the pictures on your monitor; incorporate them into letters, presentations, and other documents; or email the images to friends, relatives, or business associates.The universal JPEG compression format is used, making the camera compatible with Windows systems. A Whole Disk Copy feature lets you copy and save images in the camera's temporary memory. A Progressive Scan CCD enhances picture clarity. A bitmap mode allows saving images in a non compressed format, for even sharper images; the cost is less pictures per disk. You can view and play back images on the 2.5-inch color LCD screen. You can also apply special effects such as monotone, sepia, negative art, and pastel.

    Very Fun but not for Quality purposes

    The camera is a very easy and enjoyable product from Sony. It is one of the earlier Mavica models but still has the features of the newer ones. It features a 10x optical zoom that works fast and can be used slowly or quickly thanks to the dimmer style slide switch. The focus range is mind blowing with this camera, it will focus perfectly while lying face down on a surface all the way flat to the lens. Super Super Super Macro. The camera does use floppies which is one reason I enjoy the camera. Not a pro compared to modern standards but fun in my book. For it's age it really does have great battery life even compared to newer cameras. It can take pictures in a pastel, b&w, sepia, and inverse digital filter. The record time for each image is around 5-10 seconds so no burst mode there. The ...

    Sony Digital Mavica mvc-FD71Camera -Great & Dependable

    When asked about what digital camera to buy for a new ebayer - I always suggest this one, especially for someone who takes alot of pictures to put online. This camara is so easy to use and upload pictures , plus takes great shots with or without the flash. The zoom si 10x opetical and takes real nice close ups that shows texture. This uses the 3 inch floppy disc that you just slide into the side and then when all the pictures are taken, just pop the disc into your computer and you can view the pictures on your A drive and move them to your site, ebay auctions or your photo shop program. No messy cords or extra accessories to buy or little memory cards to lose. I have used this for over 8.5 years and have had it sent in only once to be fixed when I used a faulty disc and could not remove ...

    One of the Best old Cameras that takes Great Pictures

    This camera is one of the easiest to learn to do. It takes great pictures, with options for focus. They are clear and bright,and you can choose and pick the pictures on the spot what you want to keep. There are only 3 things that fault this camera it that it's uses floppy diskettes,floppy drive, and batterys that are getting hard to fine.But with Ebay they are there to be found. They load on the computer just great and have been easyier for me that other camera's. This is the camera I pick for Emails pictures, and placing my Adds with pictures.I do store my pictures on my computer in folders with copying them.     The Sony Mavica Digital Camera is easy to use, reliable and withstands age.

    Excellent camera! I had one stolen and wanted to replace it. Like my camera it is easy to use, has simple to work features. Only drawback is it uses floppy disks and they will not be available much longer. My original camera is many years old and works as well as when it was new as does this one. It is reliable easy to use and withstands age.

    sony Mavica MVC FD71 0.35 Megapixel Digital CAMERA

    This is a very user friendly camera that uses floppy dis for saving your photos it takes good pictures best of all you don't need any connection cables to down load your photos just insert the floppy disc into your computer and there they are the only down side most of todays computer does not come floppy disc any longer overall I love the camera and glad to have it.
