  • Solid racing game.

Star Wars: Episode I: Racer is probably one of the best Star Wars games to be inspired by the prequels, and one of the most fun racing games for the N64. The game is simple to learn but challenging to master, yet it's forgiving enough for newbies to still have fun. The tracks are all different and interesting, and there are some great "Oh, cool!" moments from time to time. There's a good selection of characters, you can customize your pod with lots of upgrades, and there's some good stuff to unlock. The only real drawback is that Watto WILL NOT stop talking when you're buying equipment, and that gets annoying really fast. Of course, it's easy enough to mute the volume and get rid of that problem altogether. Seriously, if that's the only real drawback, then there's no reason not to try ...

  • Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

What more can I say about a Star Wars game that hasn't been said in either the good or bad? I personally thought the game to be challenging once I got used to the gameplay and had alot of good times "racing all around the galaxy" at pod-racer track after pod-racer track. Mastering the Boonta Eve race was a snap, but some of the other tracks proved to be a menace (not punning the "Phantom Menace" episode really) but the race track on Malestaire proved a challenge (cannot recall the track name). Star Wars Episode 1 Pod Racer is steeped in heavy space-age fun from a galaxy far, far away and rates a 4 out of 5 for being a typical racing game, but a load of fun and was ahead of its time in graphics and playability for the year it was released (1997).

  • Classic pod racer

This game, I guarantee you, will bring you back to your child hood. Race in space for coin you can spend to make upgrades on your pod as you fight to become the fastest pilot in Tatooine. Ever wanted to go pod racing with your favorite slave child Anakin?!? Well now you can!!!! BUY NOW!!!

  • Great fun game. Cheap by N64 standards and well worth it to try and keep.

Absolutely great game if you owned it before. Or even if you haven't played it before. It's a fun game with upgrading of your ships and great challenges. It is not by any means an easy game, but you can still have fun. My father always enjoyed playing this as well. It's the only game I've seen him try so hard at. We would always have competitions to see who could be what record times. Only downside is that some of the controls sometimes seem frustrating and the way some things are handled. It often helps you out on turns that may be a little ridiculous, but sometimes the game is a little over the top frustrating (like when Chance time in Mario Party 3 takes all your hard earned stars and gives them to a very disliked AI player. It feels just like that)

  • Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

Based on the exciting Podrace sequence in the movie, Episode I Racer promises fast-paced 3D racing action. Check out amazing in-game screens and movie stills. A long time ago – actually, it was only about 1999. But I digress; a few years back LucasArts released Star Wars Episode 1: Racer. At the time it was well received by fans and critics alike, praised for its speed and its ability to capture the magic of Star Wars. Now, eight years later, LucasArts have re-released Racer for a whopping $15. And the best news is that unless your computer is older than time itself, you’ll be able to play it with the settings at maximum!
