    very good over all

    This is a well constructed Bible. This is exactly the same as the hardbound numbered edition (not large print) the paper quality is the same but in an easy to look at off-white/cream color (a plus for me). The edge is gilded gold and corners rounded. My complaint is the sub par "deluxe cover" It feels cheaper than it looks. A big disappointment to me. For the money they could have gone with bonded leather. - Brian 'trusting in Christ alone!'

    Fun Reading

    The Bible is easy to read. I agree with the authors comments in the "Introduction". That if you are a serious student of the Bible this is not the bible of choice. There is the bias of Eugene Peterson as well as the bias of the King James Translation that are present in many places. What would be great is if someone had the unbias scholarly mind along with Eugene Petersons gift of simplicity and the ability to capture the flavor of the verse. This would would capture the best of both worlds. Fun read!

    Buy it!

    Not everyone will pick up and read/study the bible,unless the Spirit of God is leading them.The Message is another "tool",one can use to hear God's calling.The Message is in todays street language,at our level of thinking.The Message will "make it plain and simple to understand!"Buy it as a gift,to oneself,a gift to a friend,family member,or loved one.The Message is God's love letter to us,AND the author comes with it,at no extra charge!

    The Message Bible for Adults

    In this contemporary English version of the Old and New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, Eugene Peterson strives to convey the truths of the original Greek and Hebrew texts. As he explains in his introduction, there were two levels of language in the Greek-speaking world. The one was for use in official documents, poetry, and philosophy, the other for shopping lists and personal letters. I sell this Bible and all the other Message Bibles. We are proud to be selling The Message Bible.

    The Message by Eugene Peterson

    This is a nice Bible with a leather cover and off white pages which make it easy on the eyes. The text is in very contemporary English. I use this as one of three translations to clarify text that I do not understand. The verse numbers are in the margin and grouped by paragraph. This makes looking up a particular verse somewhat awkward. This is the only complaint I have with an otherwise beautiful Bible.
