The English Toy Spaniel has existed for centuries and has always been highly favored by both the English and Scottish royal courts. Most notably Mary, Queen of Scots, Charles I and Charles II were known to be incredibly fanatical about the English Toy Spaniel breed - in fact the breed's nickname of 'Charles' is actually in reference to both Charles I and Charles II! It is recorded within history that both Charles I and Mary, Queen of Scots were actually accompanied to their executions by their English Toy Spaniel. Historically the English Toy Spaniel of a few centuries ago looks dramatically different to the English Toy Spaniels of today - traditionally the English Toy Spaniel had a much more pointed muzzle and head. The breed was crossed and mixed with the Japanese Chin and the Pug during the 18th and 19th centuries which resulted in the English Toy Spaniel having a much shorter muzzle and a rounder apple-like head. The English Toy Spaniel was mixed and selectively bred to the point where the original pointed muzzle and head variety of the English Toy Spaniel no longer exists! The main reason that the English Toy Spaniel was so highly favored by royalty through history is the fact that they have a very sweet, loyal and loving nature and are a true example of a companion dog. The breed is also known to be a quiet, happy and devoted breed that enjoys nothing more than spending time with its owners. The English Toy Spaniel also requires relatively little exercise which makes it a perfect lapdog. Another aspects that increases the breed's popularity is the fact that it is incredibly friendly towards strangers, children and other animals, providing that it has been properly socialized during its puppyhood. Price was good, but shipping cost ($30 for two books) seems like a lot for how long it took to get delivered (23 days from Illinois to Spain). Also, seller communication was not great. First two times I wrote, their response did not address question. Third response explained at length about the private courier service they use and how it should take 1-10 business days to deliver. Maybe they should consider a different courier service.

Shipping time was a little slow, takes about 10 days to ship out and it takes a while to get through the system. But the packing was great and I'm still overall happy with my purchase.
