The Lumix DMC-FZ28 digital camera boasts a premium 27mm wide-angle LEICA lens with an 18x optical zoom, ideal for tight indoor shots and long-distance action photos. The 10.1 mega pixel digital camera also features an enhanced Intelligent Auto Mode (iA), with the AF (auto focus) Tracking function, making it easier for photographers at any level to shoot sharp, well-focused photos, even when the subject is moving making it ideal for action shots.The AF Tracking function, the component to be added to Panasonics iA system, allows users to lock focus on a moving subject. The camera then automatically tracks the subject as it moves, keeping it in focus without the need to hold the shutter halfway down. AF Tracking makes it easier to capture moving subjects and spur-of-the-moment action shots. The AF Tracking technology also improves face detection, by providing continuous adjustment of the focus and exposure, even if the face is turned away from the camera.

    Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28K 10.1 Megapixel

    I am a Nikon DSLR user but wanted a camera I could carry with me when traveling around town. I looked at quite a few cameras and finally settled with this camera. I liked the reviews but was undecided until I looked at one in a large discount store. The camera felt "right" in my hand. It has a digital viewfinder which is ok, I have never liked composing a picture by looking at a back of a camera so it had to have a viewfinder. I do like the 18X zoom and it does work with the IS. The reason I rate it good instead of excellent it has a couple of small features that I find difficult - like viewing pictures taken when I have the urge to "Chimp" or the zoom can be too quick.     Happy so far.....

    Bought this camera because I wanted to have something with a zoom, so I could zoom into take pictures of the humming birds at my feeder. Being a novice to photography, I decided I should start out with a bridge camera. I studied the reviews of cameras and found that the panasonic dmc-fz ranked high on the scale. The reviewers seem to like the fz-35 better then the newest fz-40 and the people who had the fz-28's seem to like theres better. Well price made my mind up since I am inexperienced. Thought I will upgrade if I learn the camera functions and can take good pictures. At this time I am still studing the functions and learning how to use it but have had good experience so far. I would buy this camera again, and would recommend it to others wanting a bridge camera.

    Inexpensive camera easy to use.

    I had tickets to the inauguration, and needed a good camera, that was easy to operate, at a reasonable price. Consumer Reports had given this camera high marks and it did not disapoint. In the IA (intelligent auto) mode, it was impossible to take a bad picture. I photographed the inauguration, various Smithsonian exhibits, the Memorials, and the concerts. I photographed in daylight, night time and indoors. I really don't have any negatives on this camera. If you need a camera that can quickly deliver, run don't walk, to your nearest vendor and get this camera! Five big Stars!!!!!

    Nice camera that takes great pictures.

    By this time, 2018 - this is a badly outdated camera; BUT, if you don't need the latest and greatest, then for what this camera is selling for now, you can't beat it. Main reason being - IT TAKES GREAT PICTURES! Don't let the 10.1 pixel count fool you. The camera has a great Lieca lens, and that's probably why it does so well with image quality. Yes, the cell phone cameras are great these days, but a decent bridge camera is still useful. If you don't want to spend a lot on one, then I would highly recommend this.

    Unknowledgeable photographer

    I bought the camera on the recommendation of a friend and it fit my needs and came at a good price. Frankly, I don't know that I'll ever utilize all of the features that are included, but I've been experimenting with all the different settings and I'm amazed at the varying results. I'm very pleased with it so far, but am far from fully taking full advantage of all capabilities. It's well built and is as easy or complicated as you choose to make it. I'd recommend it.
