À propos de ce produit

Product Information

Crazy Taxi was an arcade hit in 1999 and the 2000 Dreamcast port became one of the most universally popular titles on the system. The outrageous driving action now comes to the GameCube with this launch release, complete with all the quirky drivers, caricatured customers, twisting city streets, challenging traffic patterns, cartoon-styled physics, and shameless product placement that brought success to earlier versions of the title.

The player takes the role of one of four San Francisco cabbies, each with different skills and abilities. Potential customers are distinguished on the crowded city sidewalks by colored dollar signs that appear above their heads. The player has complete freedom in choosing which fares to pick up and the quickest route to the destinations they desire.

By confronting the player with realistic traffic patterns, the game presents a challenge that is familiar to nearly anyone who has driven a car down an actual city street, yet the comic environment and exaggerated physics allow a sense freedom and excitement that is only possible in the virtual reality of a next-generation video game. Players are continuously challenged to gain higher and higher scores as they learn shortcuts to popular destinations and develop driving tricks to push their vehicles to the limit.

Avis les plus pertinents

  • Crazy Taxi Gamers Perspective.

In addition to 1,000 on-line reviews I'd like to note this: Cool Points: Crazy taxi is a port + extras of the classic arcade game and has great nostalgic value for those who played the game before. It's fairly simple to learn. The controls are easy. User can decide how long to play: 3min, 5, 10. It's a great game if you don't have hours to suffer through level after level of bosses and obstacles. Caveats: Once you've mastered the techniques and played through all the extras, there is not much else to do other than get better at it. This game is for short but sweet sessions. Graphics are pretty much the same as they were in the arcade and not too exceptional.

  • Takes me back.

This game, I can't even tell you how excited I was when I realized my wii played game cube cames. So wanted to fund my favorite game from that time. Crazy taxi was it. This game is so much fun and I have no problems with the disk works as if I bought straight from the store. Thanks for making me feel like a kid again and now my kids can't stop playing it either.

  • The ONLY version of Crazy Taxi for the GameCube

PROS: I bought this game for my son who loves the Arcade version. It's pretty much the same game with only a few extras (an extra level and the ability to play a set time limit game). CONS: The voice overs use mildly offensive language (like DAMN and such); absolutely not needed. And since there are not that many voice overs, you hear the same rude expression repeated over and over again. Unfortunately, in the audio settings/options there is only a master style volume control... hence, you can't turn the voices off and leave the other game sounds on. Very disappointing. Also, it's only 1 player. BOTTOM LINE: If you have an XBOX and must have this game, check out CRAZY TAXI 3. It's under $10 and has "more game" to it (such as 4 player split screen).

  • Amazing!

Awesome game. Takes me back to when I was a kid. The whole family takes turns trying to see who can get the most customers and money. It's fun watching other people play and see how awful their driving is. Ha ha ha

  • Pick up person, drop them off, repeat, again and again

In Crazy Taxi, ALL (AND I MEAN ALL) you do is pick up a person in your cab drive them to their destination to drop them off and repeat doing that until you get bored, and trust me, it will not take long. Most of my reviews are ALOT longer than this, but this is short simply because the game has no depth, storyline or anything to it. Only get this game if you have a child who can somehow have fun driving people around for hours on end. If you ask me the replay value is shorter than this guide. By the way, want a GOOD, CHEAP taxi game? The just buy GTA III, steal a taxi, click the right analog, and have fun, (it would even have better graphics).
