On Ironbound Island, just off the coast of Nova Scotia, native Fiona McKay (Alberta Watson, THE SWEET HEREAFTER) arrives from Europe with her teenage daughter Clair (Julia Brendler), hoping that the peace of the island will help the girl get over the death of her boyfriend. The girl finds comfort in the company of a visiting American girl (Kirsten Dunst) and more so in the stories of Celia (Lynn Redgrave), a crazy old local who weaves enchanting tales which cleverly combine her own experiences on the island with mystifying legends and folklore of the island. DEEPLY is a beautifully shot look at the healing power of storytelling.

    One movie I definitely will watch again and again.

    Interested in the Islands mostly but to have a curse revealed with Oak Island only a few miles west is in the least exciting. I liked the movie. I wanted to see what the Island looked like while if I could get on it and the movie did a good job of that. The Best.

    Draws you in . .

    Saw the movie on cable & wanted a copy for my vid library. It's an interesting story that is thought provoking & gets one emotionally involved. Kirsten Dunst and Lynn Redgrave are, of course, excellent.

    Entertaining

    I like the scenery, the music, and most of the characters. This tale of a "curse" is portrayed with a good blend of realism and imagination. With better directing, this could have been excellent.

    Good movie and sound track

    I liked the sound track a friend sent me a cut from it and that is what prompted me to buy the movie. It has what I feel is a fair story line and would make good watching on a rainy day. The music from the pipes is quite good and a pleasure to listen to.

    Heart Warming Story

    This is a heart warming story about a teenager who is going through some serious emotional turmoil that is destroying her relationship with her mother.The movie is down to earth. Not your action packed adventure but a very good movie all the same. Worth watching if you have teenagers!
