nice quality camera and image not media card friendly
to be completely honest about this camera I may have gotten in over my head a bit on this one and I am a well seasoned camera user. this is however my first POV camera the menus are pretty straight forward but the camera will not recognize my class 4 MicroSD memory card very easily. a class 10 microsd card may fix this issue but currently the memory card takes forever to come online. The interface for using the WIFI through my android phone is flawless though I fail to have the same menu selections that people thar did the video reviews of this camera had. not sure why it would be different than what was originally offered with the camera. Bought this one about a month ago. I was choosing between gopro/drift/sony. I have selected this one because it supposed to have very good colorful picture in winter. It is very small and lightweight and has very easy and comfortable to start recording and has very good picture quality at top resolution and framerate 1080p60. Wi-Fi works but with the latest Android software on phone (I tried 4.1.2). The picture is seen at phone, but it degrades quickly if come far from camera. If you want to see the picture you should keep within 5 meters of camera. However I did not test the remote recording button at long distances. Pluses: - Size, weight - picture quality at 1080p60 - comfortable control - remote control via Wi-Fi - ease of use with PC - good case and form (I do not like gopro ... It is seen when shooting the sky, but in some situations like heavy snow/rain it has very cool picture while gopro has gloomy one. - red recording indicator is hard to see in the sunny day

Bought this to take underwater video of a recent snorkeling trip. I am impressed by they video quality and color rendition of underwater shots. It was cheaper and more streamlined than the GoProHero. It attached easily ( with optional waterproof headband) to my dive mask and almost forgot it was there. The GoPro is a bulky, square box better suited for mounting on a handlebar or on top of a helmet. The WiFi version plays nice with my iPad and iPhone. Could download videos wirelessly and view them immediately after shooting. The Sony downloading and editing software is NOT compatable with a Mac...but iMovie works to edit. Plan to spend another $100 or so for accessories and mounting options. Still plan to try slow motion of my golf swing...and play with interval recording of sunsets, etc. A ... After being hit on my motorcycle and doing that "He said--She said" dance I decided I needed a camera that would give me a record of everything that happens on my rides. Following extensive research on action cams I narrowed my choice down to two manufacturers, then opted for the Sony (over the GoPro with similar specs) because of "Steady Shot" image stabilization. The picture quality is excellent and it is so easy to use, just press the button. It has an app that allows you to use you cell phone (mine's a Samsung Galaxy S4) as an external screen, whether recording or not. At the end of the day I use the included Micro USB cable plug into my computer and recharge it (never have timed it to see how long it takes to charge) and then download the day's ride videos onto my hard drive. I have it set to automatically delete the videos from the camera after downloading which always leaves my 32GB SD card ready to record the next day's videos. The image stabilization works great at smoothing out the bumps of the ride and this camera does exactly what I wanted it to do. My only issue was mounting it atop my helmet. At speeds above 50 mph it acts like a rudder (remember the movie Rocketeer?) and whips my head around; my neck would be so tired after an hour-long ride! I removed it from my helmet and now have it mounted on the front fender. It has a little clip that lets you quickly release it from the mount so you never need to worry about leaving it mounted and someone trying to steal it. It also has an eyelet on the case so you can tether it to something on your bike (always tether you stuff because you never know when something will vibrate loose at high speed). I just used it in a friend's pool to see how it worked under water because we will be going to Hawaii this summer and I'll be taking it snorkeling. I was happy with the video quality and that it didn't leak. I am looking forward to getting some good ocean footage. There are plenty of action cams out on the market now, but if image stabilization is important to you, look into the Sony. P.S. This model is now two generations old so you can find new-in-box ones discounted on EBay.

Excellent!
Image quality is great. Viewing angle options make this a good choice for close up or distant action. Image stabilization is quite good. The sound quality is exceptional. Very lightweight and small. You can attach it to your skateboard, motorcycle, bike, helmet, or anywhere you want and it's hardly noticeable. A great value for the money.
