Will You Succumb to Death Or Will You Cheat It? Yes/No
Much to my surprise, New Line Cinema made a 3rd film in the Final Destination saga. As a senior at MacIntire High, Wendy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) is enjoying senior night at the local amusement park. She seems preoccupied with taking photos for the yearbook. She is fairly certain that she doesn't want to ride the roller-coaster called The Devil's Speed, but her boyfriend, despite her reluctance, Wendy gets into the ride seats and goes into a trance where she foresees her own death. This traumatizes her into a frenzy and causes 6 or 7 to get off the ride before the fatal accident occurs. From this point forward, Wendy, has a looming feeling that some kind of force is directing her path towards some unknown fate. Her dead boyfriend's best friend Kevin (Ryan Merriman) tries to tell her ... Much to my surprise, New Line Cinema made a 3rd film in the Final Destination saga. Her dead boyfriend's best friend Kevin (Ryan Merriman) tries to tell her that he learned that something similar happened before about another student years ago having a premonition that a plane filled with his classmates was died, so many got off the plane before it crashed and saved their lives. After that incident, the survivors all died under mysterious circumstances and in the same order of the setting. I'm very surprised about this film since it was James Wong who directed the first film of the trilogy, and now he came back to do this one and perhaps even a fourth film due out soon. Wong must have had this idea running around in his mind for several years and finally decided to give it another spin. Wong now gives us two different ways to view the film. One way is as the normal theatrical version and the other way is an interactive choice version where you can change the course of the film and somehow change the course of how things progress throughout the movie. I'm not sure at this moment how complicated it gets, but I do know that on my initial choice, I saved the original boyfriend from death and several others, and therefore, somehow stopped the chain of events that lead to anyone else dying. To me that was surprising, since I thought it might just be a very simple screen prompt (yes/no), but as I continued, it got more interesting. Of course, we all wonder sometimes how we could finally succumb to the hands of death, as well as when. This film is one of those films that entice you into watching because of our own curious nature. We all want to know everything, including how other people die, even tragically. If you have following the Final Destination Trilogy, then you will know the formula for all three films are very similar in nature; introduce the audience to someone who foresees some looming tragic accident before it happens and let the character cause people to escape death, thus somehow cheating death, but only for a small time. Why, for a small time? Because supposedly death is still coming after you and in the same order as before, just perhaps somewhat postponed until he can get around to setting things straight. This predestination concept is embedded in many different philosophies & religions, so the idea of cheating fate is really nothing new. Wendy and Kevin both played their rolls pretty well, however I thought that there were times when you just would think to yourself, "How can these two be smiling at each other right after they witness some kind of tragic death of one of their friends?" I'll give this film a 4/5 because, I've watched it twice and the seemed to enjoy the interaction part better the 2nd time. IF YOU LIKE MY REVIEWS, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO LET ME KNOW BY VOTING. that's not really the greatest review title a product can get, but you hardly ever hand out five stars out of five for modern horror/thrillers. i'm pretty much a sucker for a good bad scary movie (if that makes sense) and am oddly amused by the bad acting and cheap thrills of the scary movies these days. in other words, i watched this movie expecting it to be lame. but (and i always say that this is one of the best reviews a scary movie can get:) it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. a lot of the story line was pretty ridiculous and incohesive but it definitely could have been worse (it could have been the remake of the omen). teens dying in freak accidents is somehow more entertaining than adults dying in freak accidents, which explains why final destination 2 sucks in ... that's not really the greatest review title a product can get, but you hardly ever hand out five stars out of five for modern horror/thrillers. i'm pretty much a sucker for a good bad scary movie (if that makes sense) and am oddly amused by the bad acting and cheap thrills of the scary movies these days. in other words, i watched this movie expecting it to be lame. but (and i always say that this is one of the best reviews a scary movie can get:) it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. a lot of the story line was pretty ridiculous and incohesive but it definitely could have been worse (it could have been the remake of the omen). teens dying in freak accidents is somehow more entertaining than adults dying in freak accidents, which explains why final destination 2 sucks in comparison to this and the first in the series. the roller coaster scene where everybody flies off is fun and my absolute favorite scene is the death by nail gun with the girl from instant star. gold. also, the dvd comes with this weird interactive "choose your own fate" version to watch where you choose heads or tails when the coin is flipped and you inadvertently change the course of the story. you may change the story a bit every time you watch it, which is annoying when you try to remember what really happens in the original movie, but if you choose something that ends the movie too soon you are given the option to do a re-do. so if that appeals to you at all, i'm sure you'll have a knee slappin' time with the dvd. conclusion: worth watching and buying to re-watch, especially if you get the dvd on sale.

Did You See 1 or 2? Then You 've Seen This One
The first Final Destination caught me by surprise. FD was actually clever and witty - words I do not normally use to describe a 90's horror movie. My expectations are pretty low when it comes to new horror movies, basically been there and done that. Which is exactly how I felt when I watched FD3 - been there, done that. Only saw it because my mom - yes, my mom loves horror movies too - bought it and wanted to watch it. I always tell her to rent before buying but she does not listen to me, and so she has tons of really bad movies in her collection. If you have seen the other 2 then you've seen this one. The difference is that instead of weird clues in the air, here the clues come in photographs - how convenient! from the previews you know that the "major" accident is on a ... IMO skip it, rent it before you buy it!

Have you seen FD 1 and 2? Then.... Final Destination 3 is a MUST SEE!! We very much enjoyed 1 & 2, with 3 being "good", but not as great as the others. It is definitely worth watching, and has a fair share of gore with great graphics. You cant beat the Fast Food drive-thru scene!! Note to parents: Final Destination 3 some include some brief nudity. Everyone we have watched this movie with has loved it, and it kept their attention from beginning to end, with several scenes catching their full attention. The script is not as good as the first two(with 2 being EXCELLENT~~~the highway scene), but FINAL DESTINATION 3 is well worth buying. You'll enjoy watching it several times if you're into these types of movies!! May not be suitable for all ages. ;) Rent It or Buy It?? Ahhhh, its hard to ... Have you seen FD 1 and 2? Then.... Another Good Destination.
This film may be the third installment in the series (and hopefully not the last), but this film picks up quickly, and never slows down until it's over. This time, you are provided with the option to "choose their fate", allowing you to decide the outcome of each character. This feature is soooo cool, and I only wish more DVD's had this feature. Equally, the dual disc special edition provides extra-extras (a whole second disc of them) that may new releases do not. I cannot say that there is anything about this film I did not like, other than everyone dying. Still, I can change that! Who says you can't cheat death? (Ha, Ha!!!)
