Mercenaries 2: World in Flames continues the open-world warfare that helped distinguish its Xbox and PS2 predecessor. You are cast in the role of a heavily armed mercenary, whose truculent talents go to the highest bidder. The destination this time around is Venezuela, where a military coup has instigated a full-scale battle over the country's precious oil supply. Resources such as tanks, APCs, boats, automobiles, and even mini-nukes can be at your disposal in a moment's notice. You can set buildings, vehicles, and even people on fire while you complete a series of deadly missions at the behest of wealthy clients. <br><br>Key features include a cooperative multiplayer campaign, an ability to recruit fellow mercenaries, and an assortment of tools to master. One such gadget, the grappling hook, lets you latch onto helicopters and other aircraft to commandeer them from the air. Once again the action is viewed from a third-person perspective as you choose from three playable characters, each possessing distinct attributes: powerful Christopher Jacobs, agile Jennifer Mui, and unstable Mattias Nilsson. Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is developer Pandemic Studios' first release since being acquired by Electronic Arts in October 2007.

    Mercs 2 the Explorer of the World

    To simply answer the question they ask for the review I will start out by saying this one game I am truly glad I invested money into. The graphics where great,and the openness of the game was ever more amazing. The weapons felt life like,but still was able to have that arcade feel to it that many gamers have grown to love over the years. My only true problem with it was that even when you turned the settings down the symbols for the things you can do would not stay for long once in the game. The main reason I was able to know what I could and couldnt do was simply because I played the xbox360 version of this game with a friend. Though other then that I really didn't have a problem with them game. The main thing that really pulled me into such a open FPS such as this one was that you could ...

    Top 100 gamer review

    Graphics: Mercenaries 2 is completely over done graphics wise. I have dual 3870's and I cannot tell if this game supports dual video cards or that it is so graphically intense that my 2 less than 1 year old, top of the line graphics cards cannot support it on even medium settings. This is pretty dibilitating considering you would want to play a brand new game on at least medium settings. Frankly I was lucky to get 1/3 view distance and 1024x768 resolution on my 1600x1200 22" monitor. Audio: Aside from the overly annoying repetative fiona telling you the same facts about venezuela time after time in the same game save. The audio isnt terrible. the helicopters will make you turn that volumn down though when shooting. Gameplay: This is where Merc 2 really gets average. If you arent fighting ...

    crazy ride with a great amount of distruction and action.

    This game may be old. and the Graphics not as nice as when it came out. But Playing it again for the first time brings back so many memories. But it's not mere nostalgia that keeps me coming back to this title. Rich lush open world to drive in. You have plenty of vehicles both civilian and military to hijack at your leasure. Plenty of guns to storm the next base with and did I mention you can level buildings with air strikes? Story won't win any awards but that's not a bad thing when you have such pleasent voice acting through out the game. But if you get this I might suggest a controller pad for pc. while the keyboard commands over all are nice,Hijackings that take more then one button press can be a bit tricky to pull off on a keyboard. Multiplayer is also none existant. Which is sad ...

    Mercenaries 2 is GREAT!

    It's one of my favorite games, in a nutshell it's basically the same as Grand Theft Auto but you can blow up any buildings, vehicles, walls, trees or anything else! Definitely 5 stars on consoles, The only thing that stops it from getting 5 stars for PC is its compatibility, it will crash all the time if you don't have a newer dual, tri or quad-core CPU (older dual cores don't run the game well at all, single core will crash every 5-20 mins) and a newer ATI/Nvidea graphics card, it don't run well on any integrated graphics, I'd say have a ATI HD3600 or better or an Nvidea 8800 or better with 512mb+ memory on either.

    Product came in good condition

    We bought it because Mercenaries one was really well thought out. It has a lot more. And you can side with any faction except for VZ. It is complex like the first one though some things have been taken away. You have to work for an engineer to get custom vehicles. You can not customize the vehicles. The helicopter pilot allows you fast transportation, the ability to pick up stray bombs and cash and to order vehicles and supplies. You also need to get a jet pilot for air strikes.
