À propos de ce produit

Product Information

When other girls her age were experiencing their first crushes, Melissa Sue Anderson was receiving handwritten marriage proposals from fans as young, and younger, than she was. When other girls were dreaming of their first kiss, Melissa was struggling through hers in front of a camera. From age eleven in 1974 until she left the show in 1981, Melissa Anderson literally grew up before the viewers of Little House on the Prairie.Melissa, as Mary, is remembered by many as the blind sister and she was the only actor in the series to be nominated for an Emmy. In The Way I See It, she takes readers onto the set and inside the world of the iconic series created by Michael Landon, who, Melissa discovered, was not perfect, as much as he tried to be. In this memoir she also shares her memories of working with guest stars like Todd Bridges, Mariette Hartley, Sean Penn, Patricia Neal, and Johnny Cash.In addition to stories of life on the set, Melissa offers revealing looks at her relationships off-set with her costars, including the other Melissa (Melissa Gilbert) and Alison Arngrim, who portrayed Nellie Oleson on the show. And she relates stories of her guest appearances on iconic programs such as The Love Boat and The Brady Bunch.Filled with personal, revealing anecdotes and memorabilia from the Little House years, this book is also a portrait of a child star who became a successful adult actress and a successful adult. These are stories from the other Ingalls sister that have never been told."

  • The Way I See It by Melissa Anderson

This is a book by Melissa Anderson, who played Mary on Little House on the Prairie. The bulk of the book is about her years on the show. It has anecdotes of the filming of the show, but most of her reminiscences are just a retelling of the story lines. This book wasn't quite as good as the Little House books by Melissa Gilbert or Alison Arngrim, but it is the only one that I would recommend for younger readers.

  • Waste of Time

I don't understand her why she even wrote a book. All she does is rehash certain episodes, word for word. It is extremely boring and pointless. If you want a behind-the-scenes look at Little House on the Prairie, this is not the book for you. Stupid and a waste of my time. Melissa Anderson seems like a snobby woman, very full of herself. Annoying.

  • The Way I See It by Melissa Anderson

Very good book. I bought it because I am a major fan of the show and I am always interested in hearing about the stars. Melissa Anderson puts some very interesting points in her book-completely different from what we saw on the show. It was a very easy to follow and easy to read book-didn't delve into the dark recessees of the child psyche. It had some humor along with the mention of so many different stars that Melissa got to meet through her years on Little House. I would recommend this book to any fan of the Little House series on television.

  • Sorry But This Is Downright BORING

I'm sorry but I just found this book downright BORING and I've always been/still am a huge fan of Little House. I liked all of the people who were a part of this show, even Mrs. Olsen. LOL! I own all the seasons on DVD. The reason I found this book downright boring wasn't because she didn't tell all about her life meaning whether or not she had any drug problems, trash anybody, etc., but all I found myself reading was recaps of Little House episodes. Not too much mention how she got along with the cast, what it was like working with them; a little but not much. Yes I did want to know just a bit more about her life as I know she's married and has a couple of kids but just wasn't finding it in this book. Didn't have to tell every little thing (display dirty laundry so to speak) as I ...

  • Memoir of Little House on the Prairie Star

Don't expect another tell-all book about sex, drugs, and how awful it was being a child star. Either nothing bad happened to Melissa Sue Anderson, or else she actually keeps her private life private (a rarity today). Her book is mostly a memoir about filming Little House on the Prairie. Many of the chapters are blow-by-blow descriptions of the plots of her favorite episodes. Anderson states that she and co-star Melissa Gilbert were not close, but she does not feel the need to trash Gilbert. Anderson's impressions of TV father Michael Landon are identical to those of Gilbert in her earlier book, PRAIRIE TALE: Landon was a father figure to all the kids in the cast, they were shocked by his affair with a make-up artist, but they ultimately respected him as an actor and a father. When ...
