Synopsis
Following in the best traditions of German ingenuity in design and construction of armoured vehicles, the SdKfz 251 firmly realised the concept of a competent cross-country tactical vehicle for armoured infantry units. So successful was this half-track that not only did a modified version of it remain in use with Czech forces well into the 1980s but also, ironically, the armoured infantry tactics that the Germans pioneered with it were adopted by Allied forces in the Second World War and helped them to achieve the eventual defeat of Germany. This book covers the genesis and development of the SdKfz 251, and details the numerous modifications and variations that sprang from combat experience.

    Ok, its about the 251 halftrack

    These books never show enough detail. Do not have enough close up photos. A general book on the subject. I use them for making 1/6 scale models and have to buy several books to find all the details I need. I do not know why they waste thier time doing it only half way when they could have done a much better job. The book costs more than its worth even on ebay. I bought it because my local book stores did not have a copy and charge full list price for it. If they had had it I might not have bought it at all after looking through it. The blow up picture is nice but incomplete in its description of the parts of the vehicle, names most but not all of the things on it.
