The black Canon camera body lets users create beautiful photos using several different modes to make them look professional. The small Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT lets a user capture the smallest images and create huge photos with its zooming feature. To get ideal colour balance, the user can adjust for this on the menu of the 8.0 MP digital SLR camera. There are also custom and automatic white balance modes to help blend the colour in and make the photos look even better. The Canon camera body offers up a quick start up and shoots 3 fps for capturing unlimited photos. To obtain unlimited photos, a memory card can be inserted into the slot located on top of the Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT. The speediness of the 8.0 MP camera is driven by the Digic II Image Processor for taking quick photos. The Canon camera body is powered by batteries that make it easy to take anywhere. A perfect introduction to DSLR photography
I did a general Google search on this model before buying and found it was noteable for being the first sub 1000 dollar digital SLR from Canon. About 10-15 years ago I did own a Canon 35mm SLR and got some great pictures with it. I traded that in and since then have been using an assortment of point and shoot cameras, mainly a Fuji S5700 7.0Mp "bridge camera" for the last few years. I only mention this as it will be my point of reference for this review. The first thing I noticed on receiving my "new" DSLR was that the display did not show what I was aiming at. Being used to non SLR digitals I forgot that the main feature of an SLR is that you actually look through the lens when composing a shot. Of course you don't see an image on the display! I have since confirmed this by trying a friends Canon EOS 1100D (brand new) and sure enough it works the same. In comparison with the Fuji S5700 ...... Fuji was about £120 new but £60 immaculate 2nd hand off Ebay Canon EOS350D was about £600 new but £100 immaculate 2nd hand off Ebay. Fuji S5700 is light, chunkey, and takes AA batteries. Canon EOS350D is much heavier (light for an SLR though), Much bigger but then again quite small for an SLR, and takes the rechargeable Canon battery pack. I always preferred cameras which took AA batteries, simply because they could be sourced anywhere in an emergency. I have been VERY surprised at the longevity of the Canon battery though. I charged both supplied batteries when I received the camera, still on battery number 1. Have been using a Sigma 2nd hand lens and to be honest have not been very impressed with the images so far. I am sure I got better pictures with the Fuji but I suspect this is more to do with the Sigma lens the the camera. I have since ordered a new Canon lens for it and expect a vast improvement. It is very easy to us. The controls are very similar to any other digital camera and it can be used in "point and shoot" mode if required just by leaving it on the "green square" mode. Of course you still have all the other fancy settings to play with if you want to get a bit more serious. All in all, Bearing in mind this is a six year old (at least)camera I think it is a fantastic bargain and if you can pick one of these up for under £150 you would be doing yourself a favour. The best bit about buying an established model camera (as with anything else) is that there is a healthy market in accessories and add ons available on Ebay. ( worth remembering when choosing anything).

I bought the 350D for a bargain price on ebay and have discovered to my delight that I have bought well. The 350D lacks a digital display of the shot you want to take and the display screen is very small compared to modern compacts but the pictures I've taken so far have easily outperformed my wife's Sony Cybershot. The autofocus with the EF, USM lenses is fast and precise but can be confused at maximum zoom (75-300mm). For portraits and close up shots the results are very good and at 5m pixels are crisp with exceptional colour accuracy. Slightly on the heavy side it becomes hard to control with a long range zoom lens. ... A Great Entry Level Camera
A great camera with so many features that I still haven't got my head around all of it! From my limited knowledge I would certainly recommend this camera for anyone entering the Digital SLR market. It was very reasonably priced and lenses are easily obtainable with a host full of accessories also available at reasonable prices if you shop around. Hope this is of some benefit to someone.

The body is o.k
I had the same camera and broke the body. That's why I bought it. I have all other things,and I needed only body.
