Good espresso machine for the price
Porta filter needs to be filled with coffee to brew properly (like most espresso machines) also, you need to release leftover pressure after frothing milk. This extra pressure has been causing water to flow into the drip tray after frothing milk. So, I run extra pressure out of the steam wand after cleaning the wand. I wish that the handle for the water reservoir would lift a little higher from the container. Just a little extra room would be nice. Good, but not awesome, takes some practice. Stylish, and easy to clean
Unit comes with an instructional DVD that is essential for proper operation. The machine makes good coffee, but takes some practice even with the DVD. Plenty of steam from a reservoir-tank supplied pump steamer. Steamer wand is mounted a little too low for frothing directly into your coffee mug, so have a stainless frothing cup handy. This was a factory reman unit that was missing the espresso baskets as the seller described when it arrived. I thought I could use some parts I already had, but couldn't because it has a unique sized basket. I ordered two baskets and enjoyed making latte's for the whole family. The programed aspect of the coffee maker takes some getting used to, but you have the option of running it manually. Next time I would spend the extra money and get a new ... A tough call
A veteran of several of these machines, a few thoughts come to mind. A) I've still never gotten one to last 90 days before it needed repair at a use rate of about 3 cups per day. B) When working it's the best foamy amazing coffee you'll ever make. C) They collect water in the tray for some reason, not a big problem to pour out. D), They are stylish and gleaming and programmable. E) Cuisinart customer service really isn't bad at all, I just wish we weren't on a first-name basis.A veteran of several of these machines, a few thoughts come to mind. Great IF everything would work.
I suppose if I could afford to buy one of these "new", I wouldn't expect any trouble. I have only been able to get "refurbished" ones, so sometimes they don't work as they are supposed to. I sent one in for repairs to Cuisinart for repairs, and it was returned with a broken water container. They promptly apologized and sent me a new water container for free. While it was being repaired I ordered this one, and while it makes a great cup of espresso...it is impossible to "program" it. This is my third one and when everything works...it works great.I suppose if I could afford to buy one of these "new", I wouldn't expect any trouble. Its messed up
I got this espresso maker a few days ago (FEB 03 2016), and when I turn it on it will beep and blink til death. Finally when it stops I try to make a single , double or even manual serving it will stop after less than 1 once or more then all the rest of the water will empty in the tray below. I try to reset it as per the instructions (ok no problem with that fuction), but when you what to program it , it doesn't even give you enough time to click on the exact amount of brew that I want, then all serving lights start blinking again and that darn beeping .
