Parappa the Rapper 2, the direct sequel to Sony Computer Entertainment's 1997 smash-hit, picks up where the original left off with our hero now firmly entrenched in a relationship with his girlfriend Sunny. Gameplay remains largely untouched from the original with Parappa having to make his way through eight levels of rhyming and rapping mayhem, under the watchful eye of a number of rapping masters, including the legendary Chop Chop Master Onion. Newcomers to the fold include Guru Ant, Beard Burger Master, Hairdresser Octopus, and Instructor Moosesha. By matching the sequence and timing of button presses as relayed by the masters, players must achieve a "Good" or "Cool" rating to progress further. Anything less will result in failure.<br><br>Whereas winning Sunny's heart was Parappa's previous quest, this time around the situation is much more dire; a bunch of misfits known as the Noodle Group have invaded Parappatown and have begun transforming all the burgers into noodles. Of course, Parappa is tasked with running the group out of town, while proving his manliness to Sunny at the same time. A new mini-game event occurs (based on your point tally) during the stages and sees our hero surrounded by Chop Chop Master Onion's students. Here, the player is required to press the corresponding button when one of the disciples holds up a block with a controller symbol emblazoned upon it. Parappa the Rapper 2 features flat, 2D visuals similar to those in the original.<br><br>Ancillary modes include a Practice mode, which allows newcomers to get used to a particular stage's nuances before attempting it, and a two-player Battle mode that can be played against a second player or the computer.

    Lackluster plot with great gameplay

    Though this game doesn't focus much on plot and characters, it still tries to get some story. The plot and how it relates to the levels and teachers in the game doesn't fold out quite well and comes off as lazy. The voice-acting for certain characters are noticeably bad (such as all of Katy's lines). Other than all that, the game is great. Catchy music with rhythmic gameplay along with the multiple difficulty levels and VS. Mode make this game pretty big and very fun to play. Overall, this game is pretty good, lets just hope PaRappa will make a proper comeback (and no Sony, PaRappa Remastered does not count)

    PaRappa rappa

    I was a baby when this game came out and I didnt find out about it until this year. Its an amazing game to play, the songs are amazing (especially sunny's song at the end), the story is not the best but its fun to watch. There's so much to do in this game. once you beat it there are different color hats and each one has its difficulty. I like that you can unlock music by getting a cool mode, and the max difficulty trick makes it easier to get. The secret song, the battle mode, ninja star mode...Its such a good game with so much to offer. This game will be a part of my childhood for ever and ever. :)

    Parappa The Rapper 2: a solid rhythm game

    Parappa The Rapper 2 improves on many of the shortcomings of the original. However, it falls short of being innovative. Pros: Parappa The Rapper 2 contains 8 songs, as well as 2 mini games. There were only 6 songs in the original Parappa. Parappa 2 has improved controls over the original Parappa, now you are able to see where the keys that you press land. Due to the improved controls the game seems easier. Parappa 2 retains much of the unique visual style from the orignal, and many of the voice actors from Parappa 1 return in this title. Parappa 2 has a functional multiplayer mode as well as VS. computer mode. Cons: The game brings nothing new to the genre, and is merely copying the original Parappa.     FANTASTIC all around!

    I want to keep this short and simple, this game is GOOD. It's the same thing as the original game, but it has better graphics and a few other added features. Pick this game up, its fun and addictive.

    Love chop!!! Kick, kick, munch!!

    This game is a pure classic. I guarantee that if you have an ounce of rhythmn in your body (or even, actually, if you have absolutely none at all!!) you will be rapping and dancing days, weeks, months of your time away with the funky little hat wearing dog Parappa. This game is like an even better version of Bust-a-Groove because here, you have got ARTISTIC FREEDOM!! You can sing the notes and words in whatever way you think sounds super-fly and whichever cool dude you are rapping with (they get ever stranger and the rhythm and timing becomes more difficult to master as you progress through the levels) will decide whether or not you are up to their super-cool standard.
