Red Cliff, Part I/Red Cliff, Part II (Blu-ray Disc, 2010, 2-Disc Set, Original International Version). A very intense and dramatic segment of chinese history. A very entertaining film but if you are looking for just an action film this may let you down. The action and battle sequences are phenominal and as to be expected from John Woo but the tale of the warlords and the smalller sub-plots wrap you up and put you in the struggle to obtain the throne of ancient china. Overall an excellent film. The Original International Version two part movie is much much better than the chopped down US release.Red Cliff, Part I/Red Cliff, Part II (Blu-ray Disc, 2010, 2-Disc Set, Original International Version). Red Cliff 0 Super movie!
Movie was very authentic and true to the time period. The battle scenes were intense and fun to watch. The characters were all very enjoyable to watch and together they made a wonderful team to tell one heck of a tale! The dialogue between the primary characters were also very well written and made you think. The twists within the story always had you guessing what everyone's true intentions were or what was going to happen next. Red Cliff, Part 1/ Red Cliff Part II
Epic scenes of battles-basic warfare and tactical decision are perhaps too emoted through use of sympathetic character, detracting from realities of the times-places. It could have been more valuable to contrast philosophical-military insights more attentively, though blu-ray video borders on spectacular.
