Sticky keyes. Junk. Not playble. Seller does not accept returns. Poor packaging with no protection to the keybed. It should have been in the discribtion of the item that the middle octave is hard to press because of the sticky keyes honest sellers do.

Sony UX40 better than UX50 for WiFi
The UX40 is a great unit. If you are looking at a UX50 because it has built in WiFi, you really need to look closer. The UX40 has an optional external WiFi card, and with it you will pick up the WiFi from much further away than the built in UX50. I have had both and can easily drive up to any Beaners Coffee shop or any open WiFi spot and access from my car in the parking lot with the UX40. The UX50 required getting out of my car and walk in to get my e-mails, which is the case with most built in WiFi units. The UX40 works as well or better than my lap top WiFi. The UX series is by far the best for data input. The keyboard is easy to use, has number keys with out funtion buttons and is back lit. What more can I say, for Business, it is by far the Best PDA. I have owned Palm T-C, Sony TH55, ... The UX40 is a great unit. If you are looking at a UX50 because it has built in WiFi, you really need to look closer. This unit will work very nicely with ACT for Palm 6.0 and newer, which is my main program of use as well as Clie Mail. There are also many add on programs which make the UX series more useful. Such as, Larger fonts, screen rotations, and best of all a vertual graffitti remover so you can view the whole screen with programs that dont support the wide screen format. Did I mention its great for Spreadsheets and other Office programs via Documents to Go. Battery life is Good, can work all day with data entry after many Sales calls including a few e-mail checks and sends from WiFi with no problem. Newer PDAs have better batt life, but it isnt as short as you think. And if you really need extended run time, they have a external pack which will triple its Batt life which then will dust the new ones. Or there is the AC and or DC cords to run off power. You wont regret getting this if you need it for Business. If you like games, the screen can rotate and lay flat for tablet mode, just like all the others. Great Screen also!!!!! Its worth waiting for one on E-Bay, they are harder to find than the UX50, but worth the wait.

The Sony CLIÉ PEG-UX40 is a high end multimedia PDA. It behaves more like a micro-notebook computer that includes multimedia playback. The screen swivels to use the device folded open (like a full size notebook) or the screen can be placed flat (covering the built-in keyboard) which makes the unit about the size of a deck of playing cards. It has a clam shell case that protects the screen when closed. Multimedia playback is excellent and its built in still/video camera is excellent for photographs suitable for e-mail. It also includes a sound recorder and you can create movies with sound. It also doubles as an MP3 player with excellent sound. This is one of the most feature-rich PDA's that has ever been produced. It also has built-in bluetooth technology and you can purchase a memory ... The Sony CLIÉ PEG-UX40 is a high end multimedia PDA. The screen is easily viewed when outdoors, it flawlessly reproduces still images and excellently plays video with sound. It originally sold new for $500 with a $600 model (ux-50) that also includes built-in WiFi. There are various apps available for this unit that allow text to be displayed larger than the default type settings and the display automatically switches from portrait to landscape when the screen is rotated. This device is a 'one-size fits all' PDA that will take you weeks of playing with it to discover all of its excellent features. It has a memory stick slot that will accommodate (at least) a 1 gig memory stick or a WiFi card. Sony provides (still) excellent support (downloads, updated drivers, etc., and manuals) for this device. If you are looking for a really cool PDA with loads of bells and whistles then this item will fill the bill.

PDA Delight
The Sony Clie, PEG-UX40 was purchased to repalace and earlier PEG-33 that was lost. It was an easy, excellent price and the seller lived up to his rating "Excellent." I was absolutely delighted to find that the database from my previous Clie on my PC was compatible with the replacement UX40. This saved an enourmous amount of time as when initially accesed, the data was converted and synced to the PDA with out any intervention. The battery has lived up to spec and the PDA is a real delight to work with.
