Great read by well loved author
I have always enjoyed C.S. Lewis' books about Narnia, as a child and even as an adult. I have read and re-read them over and over again. When I found out Lewis wrote books geared more towards adults, such as this three book series, I jumped at the chance to read them! Absolutely LOVED this book and the two after it. Great read and goes fast too. I highly recommend this book for anybody who loves C.S. Lewis and wants to read something different by him!I have always enjoyed C.S. Typical C.S. Lewis...there are not enough positive adjectives to describe this man's heart and soul
I am through the first two books, Out of the Silent Planet and Perelandra, where the hero Ransome has visited Mars and Venus. These books are a great read...of course, look who wrote them. I am really looking forward to reading the last and longest in the trilogy, That Hideous Strength...I will update my review then....D.P.A.

Bought this for a class I'm taking this semester. Found it much cheaper here. Looks almost brand new. Not a single bit of writing or highlighting in the book.

Totally unique study of who one might behave when.....
I have read just about every book CS Lewis has written. Some of them more than once. Out of the Silent Planet struck me as an excellent study of the inner workings of the mind of a man who didn't know who he was. The reader gets a close-up look at the discovery and change that took place when he was faced with a completely new set of circumstances. One might wonder if we would act so very different if faced with the same situation.I have read just about every book CS Lewis has written. Some of them more than once. Out of the Silent Planet struck me as an excellent study of the inner workings of the mind of a man who didn't know who he was. The reader gets a close-up look at the discovery and change that took place when he was faced with a completely new set of circumstances.
