Great head but overpriced for the (not that great) movement it has
Its a great product. You can see videos on google showing all aspects of its functioning. Im happy with it, however, its a pretty high price and I think that its movements are not as great as I expected. More specifically, I was disappointed by the PAN function, which even though its good, is definitely not as smooth as the movement in the regular video head (701HDV). It jumps when you first start the horizontal movement, and is not very well in tune with the (very nice and smooth) friction of the tilt, which obviously makes it difficult to follow a subject with the camera, case in which you use both aspects at the same time. In any case, as I said above, its a great head, but for the price, I expected perfection and it is not. I bought the item because I run a small upcoming ... Its a great product. I was marveled by the idea of a complete head that would encompass the functions of both the heads I own, so that we could have a more practical approach. However, as I see it, more than a video/photo head, it seems (when you use it) as a ballhead photo head, with a handle so you can use it for video if needed from time to time, but not to the standards of the regular Manfrotto video heads I have had the pleasure of working with.

The only photo and video combo head on the market
This is an excellent 3-way photo head. At the flick of a switch it can go from a photo head or vise versa. It is a smooth pan/tilt video head in video mode. The quick release plate is the standard 501PL so the same plate that fits tons of Manfrotto heads also fits this one. Slide if forward or rearward to balance out the camera. Also has a built in counterbalance spring which reduces nose dives on extreme tilts. Perfect head for the pro photographer who wants to shoot video occasionally. Perfect head for the amature who wants to be able to shoot both photos and videos with just one tripod. Works well with DSLR's and Mirrorless cameras. I would not put a camera more than about 6 lbs on it. As far as i know it's the only photo/video head on the market so very versatile! VERY good value now ... This is an excellent 3-way photo head. Best of both worlds
I now have a tripod head that will give me smooth video as well as photos. I like the ability to be able to shoot vertical photos or horizontal photos and video with the same head. The pans and tilts are smooth as silk with just the right amount of damping. It's light weight with Manfrotto quality.

A great product and just what I needed
This is a great head if you do both video and photography. It's not too light, but is just what I needed.
