Product Information

As the title suggests, this release bundles the first two mission-based racing games in developer Reflections Interactive's Driver series. Included are Driver (1999) and Driver 2 (2000), both for the original PlayStation platform.<br><br>Driver offers free-form driving through the streets of famous American cities. You're going to run into a little competition, though -- cops and civilian drivers are also populating the streets. If the situation of pedestrian involvement is not handled properly, things are liable to get nasty.<br><br>Driver 2 offers a few additional features. Where the original had each urban location set up in a grid-like manner, Driver 2 adds curves to the streets, making the cities closer to their real-life counterparts. Tanner can also jump out of his car at will, in order to ditch the police or to carjack someone. In-game hints (via "radio updates") are available from partner Tobias Jones, as well.

The Best
Driver No doubt about it - this one is the driving game I was waiting for all these years. Pure fun. The best thing about it is the control of the car. This is the first game I know where you can throw your car into a turn and easily control your skid using your handbrake and steering. If you're skilled enough it really feels like 'sailing' on a concrete road. Unlike other driving games, the brakes here are very strong, and when you hit the brakes, the car really stops. When you pass all the missions on the 'undercover' section of the game, you get new cars and cheats enabled, which, of course, increase the fun level. Some of the new cars, combined with the 'super fast cars' cheat can go in speeds up to 300 mph. Not so realistic, but very much fun. The control of the car is, naturally, ... The graphics is quite good, but some things don't make any sense, such as: - People drive on highways at the same speed they drive on roads inside the city. - Cops get angry whenever you touch your handbrake even if you're standing still. - Cops keep blaming you for hitting other vehicles even when your car is flipped over. - I've never been to the US, but I can't imagine all the turns in New York, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles are right angled. - The other cars on the road are very much robots-like, and they will slam into other cars even when it's easily avoidable. So if you're looking for fun driving - this is the game for you, but if you're looking for realism - it's probably not. Driver 2 The main thing you have to do in Driver 2 is to steal cars, follow people who are believed to be witnesses of the gun raid in the Red Driver bar or the deal between Lenny and a Brazilian Gangman and also to follow people on foot. I would recommend this Double pack to any one who likes car jacking feature and action.

I LIKE THIS GAME BECAUSE YOU CAN DRIVE AROUND AND DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. YOU CAN RUN FROM THE COPS, HIT OTHER CARS, GO FLYING IN THE AIR IF YOU GET HIT BY A COP IN THE RIGHT SPOT AND ACTUALLY LEAVE YOUR CAR IF IT IS TOTALED AND GET INTO ANOTHER ONE. YOU CAN'T DO THAT IN DRIVER 1. ONLY DRIVER 2. I ALSO LIKE HOW THE CARS ARE ALL DIFFERENT IN EACH GAME AND LEVEL. I LOVE THE BUSES AND THE FIRE TRUCKS THAT YOU CAN HIJACK. IT IS SO MUCH FUN TO STEEL A FIRE TRUCK. WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THIS GAME IS THE THE GRAPHICHS ARE BAD AND YOU CAN SOMETIMES DRIVE INTO A HOLE IN THE GROUND THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. Early GTA-like action game with amazing story.
Driver 1 and 2 are classic titles any Playstation owner should have. They're fun and serve as an early asset to the GTA games. 9/10 would recommend.
