  • Excellent Diet, Lots of Great Info

    I had been having some slight weight and stomach issues so I tried this diet. It takes willpower to give up the five foods you need to give up for the week but it was worth it. I lost 8 lbs, did not go hungry, nor did I feel that I had to eat gross foods. You don't have to buy any food from the author but you can if you want to. I have actually continued to follow the diet and many of the suggestions for heathier living since the 7 days. I feel better and healthier. I hope to continue to lose or at least maintain my present weight and feel good. Best part was, no exercising. I'm sure it would have made things even better but I'm a busy woman and as many feel, I don't have the time for treadmills or weights, just living. Try it, I think you will agree.     This is the second time that I purchased this book. I purchased this copy because my daughter noticed that the concepts described within the text of this book changed both my wife’s and my life. The primary focus of this book describes how someone can improve one’s health by improving one’s diet plan. Simply stated by eating more simple and wholesome foods, one’s health improves. Therefore, one’s metabolism begins to work far more efficiently and as a result, one loses weight. When I started following the concepts regarding my meals as exemplified in the text, I probably was weighing close to three hundred pounds (I do not know what I weighed exactly since I threw my scale out years ago—I could see that I was overweight.   • Hard, but it works!

    I've been in the health and fitness field for years, I've done low carb as a lifestyle for years, too. This 7 day detox diet is The Atkins low carb diet on steroids! You avoid all foods except fish, poultry, nuts, green veggies, nuts, tofu, and others. Out is caffeine, alcohol, beef, red meats, sugar, syrups, most carbs, dairy, eggs, yeast, gluten, and anything with preservatives. Only organic. Well, the first two days are hell, then I had a clarity of mind and body that was amazing! I would definitely recommend everyone doing this diet at least once a year to detox, it's great!

    Love this book--diet is easy to follow and I feel better already. I have been struggling with a caffeine/sugar addiction and this has helped me break the cycle. Focuses on whole food, veggies, and quick prep. Great way to kick off the new year healthfully! I am and also reading Ultrametabolism--another great book by Hyman.
