Ripped from the pages of Robert E. Howard's preeminent pulp series, the mighty Conan muscles onto PlayStation 3 as a sword-swinging action game in the spirit of Ninja Gaiden and God of War. As players navigate the lush world of Hyborea, they will confront bloodthirsty warriors, powerful beasts, and towering boss characters. The heart of the game is its combo-heavy combat engine, which incorporates grapple attacks, projectiles, shield blocks, and support for multiple weapon types. Conan can specialize in skill trees devoted to one-handed weapons, dual wielding, or two-handed weapons by spending points earned through leveling.<br><br>The environments also play a role in combat, as players can toss enemies onto spikes, throw them into sludge pools, or set them on fire by igniting dry underbrush. In keeping with the tone of the books, each fight in Conan typically involves dismemberment, blood spatter, snapping bones, and other barbaric feats. While normally averse to magic, the hero has been cursed with new elemental powers to use in battle. Conan's quest, however, is to rid himself of the dark magic, eventually taking him across eight realms. In addition to hearing the lamentation of the women, players will listen to an original orchestral score that sets the stage for the thrusting, slicing, and maiming that follows.

    Let Crom Judge You.

    If your someone who has never read a Conan book or comic in his life. This game may kinda get you a little confused. Before buying the game I did a little research and read up a bit on Conan. I pretty much fell in love with the big guy and had to get my hands on this game. Something to pass the time till Age of Conan the MMO comes out. This game will do just that, it captures the dark world of Hyboria. The ruthless creatures that stalk you, the world of lust, and greed. Conan who you play embarks on yet another epic quest. You pretty much navigate Conan through Hyborias Dark sinister areas. (Areas I would probably toss a pebble in and call it good.)     Very good game! Lots of blood and violence! Very cool!

    Conan is a very good bloody game. It takes a few minutes until you get used to the game play but then it's very cool. Lots of decapitations, amputed arms, flyng blood and other violent things. It also has half naked women that conan saves during the game. The bad thing is some of the further scenarios. it seems they got tired of making this game and made more simple scenarios and pahses. Even though I liked it a lot. I would check the deom before so you cn be sure if that's your kind of game

    Conan The Barbarian

    Conan The Barbarian game is filled with action from beginning to end. The fighting scenes are awesome and the finishing moves that Conan can do on his enemy are awesome as well! The game could have had better details and graphics but that would have to be done on the sequel game to this. Most of the game is pretty easy but some of the jumping scenes and the bosses at the end of some of the levels will give you trouble and make your blood and skin boil but except for that most of the game is fun and easy to cut down your enemy.     Worth the Discounted Price, or as a Rental

    This genre is clearly ruled by games such as GodWar, Heavenly Sword, even Ninja Gaiden (I highly recommend all three). Conan doesn't bring anything new to the table however, the excessive blood, nudity and cool action combos (although trivial) make-up for the lacking in originality. The premise is simple...loss everything you had, hack and slash your way (with Krom's help) through ridiculous monsters to get it all back; all the while saving helpless nude babes and sleeping with royalty. The game play graphics are a little dated, but the world at time looks pretty good. Definitely worth playing, if not owning. (I got a copy for $24.00, worth it to me)

    Conan!

    I’m a big Conan fan so I know I’m more than a little biased. I can see why this game wouldn’t be for everyone but I love that type of medieval fantasy setting this character brings with him. I grew up watching all of those 80’s and 90’s tough guy movies and when Arnold decided to be Conan?! I was hooked! The character in game isn’t Arnold but it is the same Conan and it’s great. It’s not completely mindless however as it does come with some minor strategizing and RPG mechanics in the sense of when to use a light or heavy attack when using what type of weapon and against which type of enemy. The RPG elements come into play when killing enough enemies to gain new attacks in two handed, one handed, sword and shield, or duel weapon combat.
