À propos de ce produit

    Product Information

Legendary warrior Skarin faces his biggest challenge yet in the Norse realm of Asgard: prevent an apocalypse by defeating an undead army led by a banished goddess. Viewed from a third-person perspective, Viking: Battle for Asgard casts players in the role of the sword-swinging Skarin as he fiercely hacks and slashes his way through hundreds of combatants. The world in Viking is comprised of three islands, each offering wide-open areas to explore. The action is divided into two distinct phases: the first involves Skarin roaming freely throughout each island, while the second involves taking part in large-scale battles.

During the exploration phase, players can visit villages, complete side quests, and earn money. Skarin will also be able to free imprisoned Viking warriors on each island so they will join his army. Money can be used to upgrade weapons, acquire magic-enhanced runes, and learn new combo attacks. After a certain number of Vikings have been freed, players will be granted access to a battle sequence that pits their army against the goddess Hel's forces. Once the two opposing armies are engaged, Skarin must play a pivotal role in battle by singling out rival commanders, eliminating healers, and performing other strategic moves so Odin's army has a shot at victory.

    • Pretty fun

The attack system is killer with several ways to dismember and humiliate your opponent. Despite the fact that this can become repetitive, you'll find yourself giving up a "Hell yeah!" with every severed limb and dismembered enemy. The maps are decently large with lots of nooks and crannies to explore across three levels. The missions can become a little bland, but the action makes up for it (for the most part). Stealth kills and infiltration missions spiral into run-and-gun melees with the drop of a hat. The in-game movies are a little wooden, but the game also features several intermezzo-type mini-movie seizures which help to put you in the spirit, but eventually become a little tedious. All in all, lots of good fun if not a little repetitive.

    • Cheapskate Gamer: Viking Battle for Asgard

Viking can be described very simply. If you take God of War, replace the Greek/Roman gods with Norse ones, and make the weapons more realistic, you've got this game. Graphics: 8/10 Graphics are pretty good. Easily comparable to God of War. It has a massive View Distance though. You can see the laystones from miles off. Gameplay: 7/10 The gameplay is most basically hack and slash but it can also be played as a stealth game. Both modes are fun. Story: 5/10 The storyline is a war of the gods type thing. It's not crap but it's not great either. Voice Acting: 7/10 The voice acting is fairly good if basic. Overall: 7/10 Definitely worth the 9 bucks. Knowing what I know now I'd say this is good up to $14 of the $16 scale. Good stuff.

    • NORWAY IS LORDS OF EARTH!

There's a story here, but it's barely worth mentioning. You play as Skarin, a Viking that has been called upon by the Goddess of Light to fight the forces of Hel, whose undead army is killing people to create a new Valhalla. There's also something that has to do with Skarin having haunting visions and some anger toward at least one of the gods--you know, like in God of War. The story is told via cutscenes that are reminiscent of the graphic novel 300, but they're typically quite short, hard to follow, and fail to tell the game's tale in any coherent matter. Without a gripping story, all you're left with is Viking's gameplay, which is occasionally enjoyable but usually just plain mediocre. It's a third-person action adventure that focuses on combat while mixing in fetch quests and ...

    • Good game, even if a bit redundant..

I bought this just to have something a bit different from what I already owned for the PS3. Typical of the PS3, the graphics and sound are excellent. The gameplay isn't bad, and the storyline is decent. The controls play well, and some of the fighting is pretty good. It does tend to get a little repetitive, but, what hack-n-slash doesn't? Overall, it's worth the time it takes to play the game through. Some of the tasks are a little harder to complete unless you find a walkthrough or "cheat" guide on the internet.

    • Viking: Battle for Asgard (Playstation 3)

I read some reviews before I bought the game and they were average at best. But as I started playing the game, I found that I really liked it. I am a hack and slash fan, and the graphics on this game are really good. I like the fact that it is not easy to get through the levels, even on normal mode. The sneak mode is really nice and original. I haven't past it yet, since I have limited time to play it, but I highly recommend it. Much better then Oblivion, which I found borring.
