Good book, but not for everyone
HEROES OF BATTLE is a must-buy supplement for any of the following: (1)D&D players with that war story or combat itch, (2)DMs who are looking for material and ways to put their players in the middle of a war, (3)D&D 3.5 collectors. The vast majority of the material in HEROES OF BATTLE is pretty useless to the average player. Much of the book is relegated to material to help DMs design campaigns based around war and conflicts and ways to integrate the PCs. But don't get me wrong--this material is amazing. Everything from ways to set up military-style gaming sessions to example army stat blocks; this book is chock-full of useful information for DMs who do more thinking on a grand kingdom scale than going from one dungeon to the next. There is considerably less here for ... HEROES OF BATTLE is a must-buy supplement for any of the following: (1)D&D players with that war story or combat itch, (2)DMs who are looking for material and ways to put their players in the middle of a war, (3)D&D 3.5 collectors. The feats are what most players will really want to gun for with this book--a few that help with Leadership, and about a dozen others that somehow managed to get passed over when COMPLETE WARRIOR was published. There are spells as well, but all the spells in here have been republished with their errata in SPELL COMPENDIUM, so again this isn't a must-have for the average player. That being said, I really enjoy the book and recommend it highly to those looking to bring a little war campaign to their gaming campaign.

D&D: Heroes of Battle
Basicly, this book is made for DM's and palyers alike. ITs main purpuse is to give information on Battle feild Campaigns and how players and NPC's alike should have to deal with. I ts a very usefull book, comes with stats for Seige weapons of all kinds, Military ranks for the DnD game, and Battle feild terrain. This book also has the stats for a few prestige class charectures, such as the Combat Medic, and Dread Commando ( there are others too). There's new feats,spells, and magical add-ons to a bunch of stuff too. NOT NEEDED FOR PLAY, HOWEVER, it is nice to have.^_^Basicly, this book is made for DM's and palyers alike. Heros of Battle
An excelent supliment to the Dungeons and Dragons game with many wonderful new features. I would highly recomend it for any serios gamer who plays D&D 3rd ed.

Great text for those interested in a war-based campaign
Great book. Useful supplement if you're interested in a war-based campaign. Hardcover is a better design than the softcover texts and, even with some wear, the book holds up well.
