Touted as Jerry Seinfeld's first major project since the 1998 end of his long-running eponymous TV series, 2007's computer-animated BEE MOVIE stars the popular comedian as the voice of Barry B. Benson, a young bee eager to explore the world outside of his hive. As he discovers how people live in New York City, he befriends a human florist, Vanessa Bloome (Renee Zellweger), and becomes outraged at the selling of honey, leading to a lawsuit and, of course, plenty of Seinfeldian misadventures. Helmed by directors Steve Hickner (THE PRINCE OF EGYPT) and Simon J. Smith (a member of the SHREK creative team), BEE MOVIE lightens Seinfeld's notoriously stinging humor for a family audience, while staying true to its inherent New York-bred quirkiness. This leaves room for the film to feature impressive (if anatomically incorrect) bug-oriented CGI animation and a solid supporting cast that includes Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, John Goodman, Chris Rock, and Ray Liotta (who plays a honey-peddling animated version of himself). Although it inhabits some of the same insect-populated territory as A BUG's LIFE and ANTZ, BEE MOVIE also nods to THE GRADUATE (admittedly a Seinfeld favorite) in its restless protagonist, resulting in a playful and thoroughly entertaining film that even manages to work an environmental message into its colorful palette.

    Great movie for the whole family

    I bought this movie for my children, ages 5 & 3. The colors are amazing in this film and definitely caught my childrens eyes. This movie kept their attention till the end and is definitely a movie I can watch over as well b/c of the underlying humor and same offbeat wit we all know and love from Jerry Seinfeld. This movie takes a dive into the life of a bee and trivialities Barry Benson (Jerry Seinfeld) must face to find his calling. Overall, an excellent movie!

    The Bee Movie

    I purchased this dvd for my grandaughter who is 4 years old. I enjoy watching different videos with her as I feel I can later discuss the movie and answer any questions she might have. Usually she will fidget after the first 15 minutes or so, but with this movie she just couldn't take her eyes off the screen. She watched the entire movie, laughing and giggling at the antics of Barry Benson and friends. I enjoyed it too. This movie is for kids from 4 to 74 (like me) - It is undoubtedly entertaining, and it brings a message to all of us that no matter how small or apparently unimportant, every creature has a purpose on earth. Just like the bees producing honey, each one of us must follow our chosen path. I recommend this fabulous movie to all. It is not too long so it can hold a child's ...

    Car entertainment

    My 18 month old grandson is totally in love with this movie, which is why it was purchased! I had seen it a few years back, and it is quite entertaining, showing life as a bee sees it.

    My childhood movie 😊☺️

    I love this movie with my whole heart. It is one of my favorite movies of all time. I never get tired of watching it. It is in great condition and the disc is in great condition. I am so very happy with this product.

    Fun fun funny

    I was very sceptical/skeptical(your choice on the spelling) at first, but Mr. Seinfeld has a hit as far as I'm concerned. My daughter, who is the real critic here, loves the movie and so do I. She is a lot harder to please than I am. It was appealing to her as well as myself as an adult(I use that term very loosely!). The humor was good. Not peppered with sexual undertones or overtones. In my opinion Seinfeld took the high road in a day when movie producers don't. (Even when the movie is supposed to be for children.) It was very nice to be able to watch a movie all the way through with my daughter, just like I used to with my parents! God bless you Jerry!
