For the follow-up to his dark crime thriller SEVEN, director David Fincher decided to remain in a film noir vein. The gift enrolls Nicholas in CRS (Consumer Recreation Services), a company that designs elaborate real-life games for each specific participant. As the game begins, the reluctant Nicholas becomes the victim of a series of pranks that quickly turn malicious and dangerous. Stripped of his finances and convinced that he can trust no one, Nicholas realizes that this game may be an attempt to steal his fortune and leave him for dead. In a desperate bid to regain his life, Nicholas infiltrates CRS in order to uncover the secrets of the mysterious organization.Douglas is perfect playing the uptight businessman Nicholas, cleverly riffing on his Oscar-winning performance as the cold-blooded Gordon Gekko in WALL STREET. Fincher's Kafkaesque carnival show is an exercise in taut filmmaking that mischievously pulls a seemingly endless supply of rugs out from under both Nicholas and, even more impressive, the viewer.

The Game
This film is one of the best ever made, in my opinion. The 'Mind' Game that goes on - continually - is an incredible feat of screenplay writing, and the exciting progressive changes that occur during the entire film (definitely including the Ending!)rates it right up there with 'U-Turn'. I've wanted my Husband to watch this movie for a long time as the quality of the entire Production is 'genius'. Michael Douglas is a Great actor, producer and man who has the where-with-all and Talent and Intuition and Creative Genius, the Fantastic Crew of all production involved, and the Financial Backing to bring this fabulous story-screenplay adventure to many, many viewers who, like myself, must have thrilled to sit on the edge of my seat while viewing. My assessment of this Movie is 10 out of 10!This film is one of the best ever made, in my opinion. Exciting and engaging to the End
The Game takes you on an adventure of twists and turns as the main character encounters them. It’s not dull or predictable. The main character has everything and this “game” he is engaged in—always life threatening encounters— for his birthday causes him to re-evaluate his self-centered life. It’s a thriller movie and has a fantastic ending. You will not be disappointed. Two thumbs up. The Game takes you on an adventure of twists and turns as the main character encounters them. Awsome movie, lots of twist and turns.unique great cast
i loved the movie because it was a combo of humor drama and suspense and most important mystery. i think that a movie like this will not come out again its a true classic in every way. Micheal Douglas plays a rich guy who is self involved and in his brothers (Sean Pen) attempt to try and break him out of his self absorbed shell. gets him involved in this game, that changes his life completely. I can't indulge anymore information on it for fear i won't do it justice, just see it!!i loved the movie because it was a combo of humor drama and suspense and most important mystery. i think that a movie like this will not come out again its a true classic in every way.
