Notes
These are etched into the memories of so many, from the '30's (Yankees win fourth straight World Series) to 2004 ("The Curse" is over!). This 4-CD set-whose box looks like a slightly scuffed base-covers all the bases with original broadcasts (the above plus the "Shot Heard 'Round the World"; Willie Mays' "The Catch"; the homers of Mazeroski, Gibson and Bucky Dent); player remembrances (Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose); a CD of comedy, commercials and controversy, and one with baseball songs by Dylan, Fogerty, Nat King Cole, Count Basie a home run!

Given to me as a Father's Day present by my two wonderful daughters, this box set contains four discs in a package made to resemble a base with a great, picture-filled booklet inside. The song cd is very good, but, at 50 minutes, could have been expanded. The Intruders "Love Is Like A Baseball Game" comes to mind. Highlights include John Fogerty's "Centerfield", Bob Dylan's ode to Catfish Hunter, and the hilarious "Dying Cub Fan's Last Request" by Steve Goodman. Disc 2 is filled with game broadcasts, and is outstanding. Disc three is the weakest, containing player interviews that, for the most part, are less than enlightening.
