I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this curriculum!!! The elementary grades of the Saxon Math are absolutely fabulous! These materials gently develop concepts, and the practice of those concepts is extended over a period of time. Material is introduced in easy to understand pieces allowing students to grasp one piece of a concept before the next one is introduced. These are then practiced together until another one is introduced. This feature is combined with a continuous review in every lesson throughout the year. The way they continue to review constantly and add new concepts makes this curriculum top notch in my book. It is also not a tear jerking experience, this is very easy to use so it is painless! I highly recommend the elementary Saxon Math Curriculum. I do not care for the higher grades as the ... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this curriculum!!! I absolutely LOVE it !!! The BEST math curriculum.
The lessons are planned out well. They are not too hard, while covering all the major math fundamentals. My daughter used Saxon for Kindergarten as well. I also highly reccomend the manipulative set that goes with the K-3 grade. Kristy

Saxon Math is a good solid program-it's like to tortoise of the tortoise and hare story. Solid and reliable, it does have repitition, however, the student will know the information by the time they complete the books. I like the way a variety of mathematics are integrated throughout. The student covers algebra, geometry and other math as introduced at a very low level and will not fear it when they are in that specific area because they are familiar with it.
