This is an extremely fast bang for your buck solid state drive. I thought I absolutely *needed* the Vertex4 when it hit the market a few months ago but after lots of research I found that I simply would not be noticing a great leap in performance using the Vertex4 over the Vertex3 so I decided on the Vertex3 120GB. I use the Vertex3 as my main drive (with operating system and applications/programs stored on it) inside of a 2011 Mac Mini 2.0ghz intel i7 processor running 16GB RAM. With this current drive, my machine absolutely smokes! Apps literally open instantly with virtually no waiting. The machine boots from off in 15 seconds flat and does a full restart in less than 30 seconds. A restart using the stock original 500GB 7200RPM disc drive took 90 seconds, and a start up from off took ... This is an extremely fast bang for your buck solid state drive. My current Geekbench Benchmark score is 9818 and running a stock drive for this computer and 4GB RAM is quoted at 9456 so the drive (along with quadrupling the RAM scored me an additional 400 points While the Vertex3 is not the size storage I desire (I want a 500GB SSD, but would NEVER PAY upwards of $400 for a drive !EVER! no matter how big) I am able to work around that by just putting what I *need* and access regularly on the drive and run an external hard drive for other storage needs. I chose the 120GB versus the 240GB because my research showed me that I would also not notice a huge performance increase in day to day tasks using the 240GB drive over the 120GB version. However, I do notice a HUGE performance increase using the vertex3 SSD versus the stock 500GB 7200RPM Wester Digital "Black" Hard Disc Drive that came stock in my machine. Night and day, I will never go back to a disc drive as my main operating system drive ever again. OCZ also has great customer service. I could not be happier

Totally amazing and good value for the money.
I am totally on love with this drive. I bought this to set it as my main hard drive on my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook. I was using a Scorpio Black 750 before which is now my secondary drive, and since the moment of installation, the performance increase was noticeable. It is blazing fast to load applications (And I consider myself a heavy user). Adobe products, NetBeans, itunes on windows, and many other programs that took long to run, now load almost instantly. Writing/Reading speed is amazing and not to forget boot/shutdown process now only take seconds! I haven't tested it yet in games since I am not a gamer myself, but I cannot complain for its performance as of yet for everything else. About battery life, I have noticed a considerably increase in battery life (even using my Scorpio ... I am totally on love with this drive. I bought this to set it as my main hard drive on my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook. After installation, there was a problem and it hangs when running some applications: Promt translator as well as Opera. Sometimes it freezes completely and does not respond to the keyboard with the mouse. Only hard reset helps. Often after that the system refuses to boot. Internal error log Windows 7 will not see any problems. I think it's just a software bug in the device.

A must have for everyone.
~10x faster than a normal hard drive and for such a good price! A must have for everyone. Makes me want to hunt down an SATA 3 laptop to support its full potential! No more memory cache freezes, allows instant app. loads, boot up and shut down time takes seconds instead of minutes. This hard drive has it all and for the best price on the market - I checked.

Buy this if you have ANY type of notebook that is compatible with an SSD.
Really makes a difference on the Mac Book Pro I bought. I believe my speed increased over 500%! It makes such a huge difference, it change my boot-up time from 49seconds to around 9-11seconds with everything loaded. This with a RAM upgrade will make any old computer faster then it was when new guaranteed.
