Now you can put the odds in your favor with the DiMAGE Z1, which boasts the fastest autofocusing in its class. The key to this speed is Rapid AF, an unrivaled new focusing technology from Konica Minolta. Rapid AF focuses on your subject in approx. 0.4 seconds at 10x optical zoom, and is even faster at wider angles. In terms of comfort during shooting, only 35mm film cameras come close. The superior speed and accuracy of Rapid AF comes from its innovative hybrid design, the combination of a passive sensor and video AF. Further accuracy is provided by the camera's wide 3-point focusing area.Even if your subject is far away, you can bring it in closer to fill the frame with Mega Zoom. This extra-wide 40x zoom range offers tremendous possibilities with shot composition. Mega Zoom is composed of two parts. The first is a high-precision 10x optical zoom lens with 10 elements in 7 groups. The lens contains 2 aspherical surfaces that help keep the camera lightweight and compact. Mega Zoom's second component is its seamless 4x digital zoom, which expands your overall range to the equivalent of 38 to 1,520 mm. This scope makes the DiMAGE Z1 an ideal choice for large-scale events and outdoor shooting. Zooming is quick and smooth.Movie recording is another area where the DiMAGE Z1 takes the lead. Its VGA recording mode (640 x 480, 30fps) delivers four times the resolution and twice the frame rate of the QVGA recording used by conventional digital cameras. That means stunning movie clips with camcorder-like quality. During movie recording, Konica Minolta's advanced autofocus technology keeps your subject in focus for excellent results. Afterwards, you can use the movie frame capture function to save any frame in your movie as a still shot.The DiMAGE Z1 features a 3.2 megapixel CCD sensor with a primary color filter to ensure high color fidelity. The images you capture will be detailed enough to turn into large-size prints: 17 cm x 13 cm (7 inches x 5 inches) at 300dpi printer resolution, or an even bigger 35 cm x 26 cm (14 inches x 10 inches) at 150dpi resolution.It takes more than a lot of pixels to make a great digital image... you need rich colors as well. To satisfy this need, CxProcess II delivers image after image with lush, vivid colors and minimal noise. CxProcess II is the latest version of Konica Minolta's acclaimed image processing technology. All of the more advanced DiMAGE cameras include CxProcess.If there's too little light to work with, digital cameras tend to produce some unwanted graininess in images. However, the DiMAGE Z1 offers an outstanding solution in such situations, thanks to its advanced noise reduction circuitry. By turning on the noise reduction feature for slow shutter shooting, you can get clearer images of nighttime scenery.
