Product Information

Revamping the cop show genre in the 1970s, the brash, streetwise Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) and the refined, cultured Hutch (David Soul) were the definition of cool for a generation. The show was also characterized by more violence, drugs, and exciting car chases than had previously been seen on TV. Playing the good cop, bad cop routine to perfection, the partners were complete opposites who nevertheless complemented one another, enabling them to solve even the most difficult of cases--though admittedly sometimes not entirely by the book. They were aided by their street informer Huggy Bear (Antonio Fargas), often hinted to be a pimp, though this was never confirmed. The third season opens with a two-part feature that deals with voodoo on an island location. Later on, Hutch becomes involved in a fatal attraction, the pair act as bodyguards for a Russian ballerina, and discover a coven of devil worshippers. Other episodes include "Manchild on the Streets," "The Trap," "Foxy Lady," and "Quadromania."

Starsky and Hutch: Complete Third Season
I love David Soul and Paul Glaser and Antonio Fargas and Bernie Hamilton. This DVD set is wonderful!!! It has all the great drama/comedy I loved watching when I was younger. The relationship between David and Paul as they do the characters of Starsky and Hutch is awesome!! They have such great chemistry on and off screen. And of course you couldn't have Starsky and Hutch without Huggy and Captain Dobey. These episodes are super! I had some vhs copies of the episodes from years ago, but these DVD's bring the picture to me sharper and clearer than I have ever seen it before. Even to the tiniest little hairs on their faces. Not to mention the great bonus interviews on the dvd set. It's also nice to just be able to stick one of the discs in and watch more than one episode without ... Starsky and Hutch Season Three
Being a Micheal Mann Fan (Miami Vice, Crime Story, Private Eye), I watched Starsky and Hutch when it was current back in the 1970's. Micheal Mann was one of the directors on the TV series. It is a bit of a precurser to his later aforementioned shows. Also, Paul Micheal Glaser (Starsky) and David Soul (Hutch) had a good chemistry much like Michel Douglas and Karl Malden had in the first eight seasons of "The Streets of San Francisco". It's too bad that Starsky and Hutch only lasted four seasons. Also, Antonio Fargas had an interesting character in "Huggy Bear". Lastly, Starsky's "red tomato with the white stripe" , a phrase uttered by a body shop guy in one episode that featured Hutch's tired beige LTD getting a tiger stripe interior, has become a collector's item. Starsky and Hutch DVD
I gave it only 3 stars because the discs don't work right. The only way I can watch all the episodes on each disc is to set it on all shows and keep pushing next until I get to the next show. Very disappointing and tedious. However I do get to watch the shows and they are clear.

Great stuff!!! The Tomato Rides Again, Again!
These dvd's have been fun for my son and I. He has really enjoyed the old clothes styles and the looks at older cars in the episodes. While viewing a season two episode based loosely on Charles Manson and all of that twisted violence that took place, he had questions about could this really happen. That prompted him to do more investation that led to a classroom discussion at school. The only thing that bugs me about these dvd's is they are addictive. We end up watching a whole disc at the time. I recommend them for a look back at the old days of the 70's!These dvd's have been fun for my son and I.
