Despite the fact that Scrooge McDuck, the world's wealthiest aquatic fowl, has more money than he could ever spend in a 100 lifetimes, he is always on the lookout for more riches. When he hears of five lost treasures that are buried around the world and beyond, he immediately sets off to find them. You control Scrooge McDuck as he goes on what may be the most dangerous money-grubbing spree of his life! Disney's DuckTales takes you through five exotic lands filled with action and adventure. You'll climb ropes and chains, battle strange octopuses, ride a helicopter and a UFO, hop on a pogo stick, and much more. You can play the various worlds in the order you desire. Each world is timed, and there are three levels of difficulty from which to choose. In the Amazon, you'll explore the ruins of the Incan Empire in order to procure the Sceptre of the Incan King. You'll knock out spiders with rocks, do battle with apes, shimmy up and down vines, avoid dangerous traps and more. To find the Coin of the Lost Realm, which is hidden in Transylvania, you must de-haunt a house full of monsters. You can use mirrors to transport yourself from room to room. Before venturing underground in the African Mines, you must obtain a skeleton key from another land. Once you do enter the mines, you will need to find the Giant Diamond of Inner Earth. Watch out for slugs! When scaling the Himalayas in order to find the Lost Treasure of Genghis Khan, you'd better play it cool. Be careful not to get stuck in the snow or take a non-stop slide on the ice. Finally, the fabled Green Cheese of Longevity is somewhere on the Moon. Before you can get the treasure, you'll need to summon Gizmo-Duck, a robot who is operated by remote control. Each of the five levels of play is filled with secret rooms, tricky pitfalls, dangerous traps and an assortment of troublemakers, villains, ruffians, creatures and other bad guys. To thwart an enemy, you can jump on it or knock an item (such as a rock) into it with your cane. Also, you can break open rocks and treasure chests to see what they hide. Certain friends and family members of Scrooge are on hand to help in the quest for treasure. Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby dish out helpful hints, while Bubba Duck presents a special treasure. Mrs. Beakly treats Scrooge to a delicious surprise (way to go, Scrooge!). Also helpful are various items you can pick up, such as magic coins for invulnerability, ice cream and cake for restoring hit points, and Scrooge dolls for extra lives. Once you have found all five lost treasures, you will enter The Last Battle, which pits you against your worst enemy as he tries to take away your riches. Finish him off and you win the game!

A great port of the NES and a fun, good game to add to your collection.
While I do have fond memories of this game from my youth, I'm not going to let it taint my review as of 2013. This was one of the first games I got when I was 12 and I wasn't disappointed that Christmas. With that said, this game is really good but not perfect, there are some flaws that keep it in the 4 star realm for me. The game plays well, and it proves/proved that the Gameboy could be just as engaging as the NES was. There is a lot to do and a lot of secrets to find. One problem is the controls sometimes let you down with the pogo action, leaving you a little frustrated during tricky sections. This is only a small problem though, as it gives you something to try to perfect and the benefits outweigh the problems. Another problem I found was that there are sometimes pits that ... This is obviously a problem in level design, but if you get the feel for the context of the level it's sort of apparent what you're supposed to do. Another small problem for me was the music, which was great 95% of the time, that will hit a sour note at climactic times in the music that was great on the NES but didn't translate to the Gameboy completely. Overall all the characters that you might have liked in the cartoon are in the game like Gyro and the Beagle Boys, not to mention Bubba Duck and Webby. Capcom was one of the very best developers for the Gameboy and this game shows that they were. This game is definitely in the upper ranks of the GB library even though it's not at the top IMO.

Duck Tales Gameboy Game is average
I purchased this Duck Tales Gameboy Game for my 3-year-old nephew to start learning Gameboy. It was not a great choice for his age, I think he needs to be 6-9 probably to play this game. The levels seem difficult for cartoon figures - not very straight-forward for the young age group. Though at this very young age, I think recognition of the characters is of major interest to the kids and the game is great in this realm.I purchased this Duck Tales Gameboy Game for my 3-year-old nephew to start learning Gameboy. A classic of Nintendo Game BOy!!!
Duck Tales was my first Nintendo game boy game, back then I was 11 years old... wow now i´m 32 and have the pleasure to have it once again in my hands, but this time a VGA 90+ Graded!!!! Duck tales by far one of the best games of a lost era.
