It is New Year's Eve, and over 2,000 passengers & crew are ringing in the New Year aboard the huge cruise ship 'Poseidon' on the open sea in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean! A small group of survivors find themselves unlikely allies in a battle for their lives. Preferring to test the odds alone, career gambler Dylan Johns ignores captain's orders to wait below for possible rescue and sets out to find his own way to safety. What begins as a solo mission soon draws others, as Dylan is followed by a desperate father searching for his daughter and her fiancee--a young couple who hours before couldn't summon the courage to tell him they were engaged and now face much graver challenges. Along the way they are joined by a single mother and her wise-beyond-his-years son, an anxious stowaway ... This is a fun, adventure movie that keeps you pretty much on the edge of your seat. Worth seeing, great visual affects, fast paced, action/adventure.

A Damn good remake!
The original version "The Poseidon Adventure" was good, but this remake blew it away. The special effects really sold it for me. To actually see the ship going over like that and not just seeing people's expressions is a huge difference. I also liked the younger actors better. I don't know what it is but seeing Josh Lucas and Kurt Russell lead the others out and not Gene Hackman and Ernest Borgnine! That was a better way to go! I also loved that they put Fergie in as the singer and not the "Morning After" chick! bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Not near as good as the 1972 Original!
Kurt Russell was great,and the Special Effects Were Fantastic but that's about it.

Poseidon- 1 of my FAV movies
Poseidon is definately one of my favorite movies ever. Great idea, great action, and great actors. I could watch it again and again and again and i WOULDN'T get BORED! i definately recomment this movie!
