Amazing upgrade from the regular version of one of the greatest films of the 80's
This special edition is awesome! There is a great documentary There is the original deleted bank robbery scene There is an option to watch the film with a fantastic, super informative commentary by John Carpenter and Kurt Russell

Smooth transaction and great movie edition
I almost dropped dead when I found out this movie wasn't in my collection anymore. Thankfully, this version is a better edition than I ever had, with all the bonus features. The special effects were crisper, and the overall tone was improved. Some of the darker scenes were hard to see in my old version.

Snake Plissken’s Thrill Ride
I love Escape From New York. I saw it at the theater when it was released, and many times on cable. This DVD set is a must have for fans of the movie. Living in the St. Louis area, it’s cool to know that much of the movie was shot here. I wish I would have known back then, I would have tried to take a look. The movie looks great on DVD and the special features add so much to the story. John Carpenter and a Debra Hill did so much with the relatively small budget.I love Escape From New York. Snake Plissken,....I've heard of You....
One of my all-time favorite movies. This release is much better than the single disc version that came out a couple years earlier. The picture here is a high-definaition transfer of the original print. Audio is presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital. Intensley directed by John Carpenter, this post-apocalyptic flick features Kurt Russell as the hero turned felon, turned hero Snake Plissken. He is given an offer to rescue the President after his plane goes down inside The New York City maximum security prison. I saw this movie as a teen and when it was released in 1981, the year 1997 seemed SO far away. Well here we are 10 years after that date and New York is far from the way it was depicted here. There are some nice bonus features in this set. There is a deleted opening scene that ... One of my all-time favorite movies. Awsome Movie
This is one of the best apocolyptic films ever filmed. Kurt Russell plays one of the best action hero/villian to be created. It is to bad that they could not capture the same fire and intensity with the follow up Escape from L.A. The movie itself flows and once it starts it does not let you go till the end. The special features of the second disc also are great for those people who tend to buy special edition dvds just to get the features that they have not seen.
