  • Baby Einstein: My First Signs

This video is good, but it's not one of our favorites. It moves slow, the orchestra music isn't as upbeat and the character development isn't as fun as some of the other videos. My son (7 months old) enjoys the video but it doesn't hold his attention the whole way through. He gets a little bored with it and it's one of those repetitive videos (which we know, kids like repetitiveness so it serves its purpose well there) but an excellent video is one that even the adult can tolerate to listen to, over and over again. Come on moms, you understand! But it was money well spent and as my son gets a little older he will enjoy it more. There is alot he can learn from the video (me too, at that matter). There are alot of other children and adults in the video and babies do like that.

  • The title completely describes the content.

I bought this item because I have a one year old and a two year old. Neither one can express themselves very well yet. They are learning the signs already. What I really like is that our older children ages 6, 7, and 11 are also learning them - which helps the little ones. I think teaching sign language to young children is a great idea and the video is very helpful in teaching them. Thanks

  • Television and videos not good for children under 2

The name "Baby Einstein" can lull you into thinking it's okay or even good for babies to watch t.v., but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television AT ALL to children under 2 because so many studies have proven its harmful effects on children. Studies have shown that: - for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%. - among babies ages 8 months to 16 months, every hour spent daily watching programs such as 'Brainy Baby' or 'Baby Einstein' translated into six to eight fewer words in their vocabularies as compared with other children their age." - brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. "Signing Time" (Two Little Hands Productions) DVDs is ...

  • dvd taught my girl to sign and me! LOVE IT, VERY CUTE

Don' have anything bad to say about any of the five Baby Einstein dvds we own for our 2 children, under 3. I laugh when I read reviews like COHRUN. I can tell you that despite all the statistics etc. that Cohrun states I will tell you that before the age of two and earlier when my daughter started to watch these videos she new over 20 signs, was talking earlier than any of the her kids her age we met at play grounds etc. Her doctor was even amazed at the extent of her vocabulary, not just simple words like pretty, she would say exceptional, or gorgeous, beatiful and so on. I had moms come up to me and ask how old she was because of the words and signs she was using. I give a lot of credit to these DVDs. So when it comes to reading reviews as Cohrun I have a hard time with it because ...

  • Would purchase again

We have purchased this DVD twice because we liked it so much! Our son decided to ruin the first one by trying to put it in the DVD player himself. Our kids (including toddler and baby) love this video. It keeps their attention for the full 24 minutes- long enough for the parents to hop into shower or take a nice break. The adults in the house don't mind the Baby Einstein music, and I think the way they present the content is well-done.
