In remaking the 1996 French thriller L'APPARTEMENT, director Paul McGuigan transplants the story to the snow-covered Windy City, Chicago. Josh Hartnett is Matthew, a good-looking young man who has a great job and an even greater girlfriend. But just before he's about to get on a plane to China and score his first major account, the past comes back to haunt him. Matthew runs into his good friend Luke (Matthew Lillard), who is dating a mysterious actress, Alex (Rose Byrne). Suddenly he is reminded of Lisa (Diane Kruger), a beautiful dancer he dated years before. But the day after he asked her to move in with him, Lisa disappeared. Now Matthew's search for his long lost love is renewed. The harder he looks, the more the truth gradually, and devastatingly, begins to reveal itself.McGuigan's stylish, convoluted thriller shifts between the past and present, preventing viewers from solving the puzzle until the film's closing act. Featuring an outstanding soundtrack from some of modern rock's most celebrated artists (Coldplay, Mazzy Star, Broken Social Scene), WICKER PARK also boasts engaging performances from its cast of pretty young faces.

    Great Movie

    Recently visited Chi and was reminded about this awesome movie! Definitely worth checking out. from IMBD: "Matthew (Josh Hartnett) sees Lisa (Diane Kruger) on a camera's videotape that was left by a customer to be repaired at the photo shop. Lisa has a mesmerizing effect upon him, and when he sees Lisa window-shopping across the street, he follows her to find out who she is. He meets her in a shoe store and gets a date. They soon fall in love, and it changes his whole life, because now everything is perfect. She is a professional dancer, and whenever she gets time off, they meet in Chicago's Wicker Park. One day after he wants her to move in with him, Matthew goes to Lisa's home and finds that Lisa has vanished without leaving a message or calling him. Matthew gets a job in New York and ...

    I loved Wicker Park!

    Wicker Park This movie has an interesting plot full of twist, turns, lies, and deceit. The plot becomes pretty clear half way through the movie but that's not a bad thing, once you realize what's going on you start to really feel for the characters. Wicker Park features some of the most intense scenes I've seen all year, it's a really great film that everybody can enjoy. Final Verdict: 5/5 Rent or Buy?: This movie is awesome, but you might want to rent it before buying it. Renting it and watching it once was enough for me, but it's definitely a must watch.     The main characters are "believable". Story line is well thought out, and different...Enjoy the entertainment.
